I have been holding out on purchasing an e-reader until I can find one that has upgradeable storage space and natively supports non-proprietary file formats including HTML, RTF, and good old TXT.
I have literally hundreds of stored text documents on my computer that I would love to be able to transfer to an e-reader and browse at my leisure. Converting these documents to another format (ie, PDF) is absolutely out of the question. There are far too many and it would inconvenience me greatly. I want to be able to dump them and go.
Please tell me the Nook is the e-reader I have been waiting for. I'd hate to have to continue my search, but eventually someone will put a reader on the market which meets my (relatively simple) requirements.

I'm also wondering if there is an update planned or another version planned that will support open office, txt, and word files. I'm a writer and it would be great to be able to edit my stuff on the go. I also know quite a few literary agents (info gained from their blogs) use this feature on the Kindle quite often. I like the features of the Nook over the Kindle, except this one thing.
Thanks,
Julie
