Then I reordered with a new shipping address so that my wife would't get it in the mail before Xmas. 
You didn't think this was one of those threads did ya? The guy on the phone appologized for being unable to change my shipping info without having to do the cancel/re-order method.
On a side note - the rep on the phone said they had a Nook in hand to play with a little before release to work out any last minute kinks. The greatest news he had is that the device was easily readable in the blazing Florida sun, and he was unable to cast reflections with it. So, sun glare appently isn't an issue.
