Keyboard

I would like to see an illustration at least of the keyboard.  Also, is there a way to connect a separate keyboard to the Nook?  It would make note taking easier.

You can see a partial view of the keyboard here.

Re: Keyboard

Thanks for your inquiry Golfista.  At this time you would be unable to connect a separate keyboard to nook.

I found a picture of the nook's keyboard over at Endgadget.

I've seen other partial photos, the one on the B&N Nook page, that makes the keyboard appear different, so perhaps the photo posted above is the one that appears when inputting notes--based on the fact that some of the text is highlighted. Or something. . . .

Re: Keyboard

hmmm - no punc or numbers on this screen - must have to flip to a "numeric" screen to get those keys, and then come back to the "alpha" screen...

Re: Keyboard

Oh no!!!  I was hoping they'd fixed that.  It's basically the same as the pop-up keyboard on phones running the Doughnut version of Android.  I switched from a G1 to a MyTouch and the keyboard is a pain!  This one won't be so bad since it is a larger screen (that's assuming the touchscreen isn't terrible...which is still to be seen.)  But the main thing, as has been pointed out, is that punctuation and numbers are cumbersome to enter.  Typing "523 E. Main St. Apt 3, on the 3rd floor" is an exercise in frustration what with all of the shifting between letters and numbers/punctuation.

To make things even worse, there doesn't appear to be any real-estate left-over for android's predictive typing assist, which really comes in handy.  Ah well...it's a reader, not a typewriter!
