My Nook would not start, customer service was very usefull

About two hours ago my nook would not start.

I would push the power button, it would flash black and white like it normally does, and then go to the "Your device is starting up" screen.  It would never move past that screen.

I wandered around here and tried everything that I saw to no avail, and then finally called customer service which I was honestly afraid of after having read all the posts.

That being said, I reached some one in about five minutes and he gave me the following fix which he said for some reason hasn't made it onto the forums.  I figured I would post it.

He had me force my Nook to do a system reformat, which can be done in the following way.

1.  Push the power button.

2.  Immediately when the screen flashes black and white push and hold the power button for 12-15 seconds.

3. Repeat 6 times.

4. Your nook will state that it is reformatting, your touch screen will show blue text and a progress bar to this effect.

5.  Once it has finished, push the power button, IT WILL TAKE LONGER THAN USUAL TO START.

At this point you will have original settings and will have to download the update again.  Your books will still show in your library but you will also have to download them again.

It's a long process but at least it works again.

Hope this helps.
