My Ship date just changed from 12/14 to 12/21

My expected ship date just changed in the last hour or so from Dec 14 to Dec 21.  I was sent an email a couple of days ago saying I would have my Nook by Dec 18.  What is going on?

Ship date was 12/11.  email said I would have it by 12/18.

Yeah, so was mine (original ship date 12/11) and I got the e-mail that I would have it by the 18. That is totally uncool.

My expected to ship by date of Nov. 30th was changed to expected to receive by Dec 14th.  But, I actually received it on Dec. 10th, four days sooner than anticipated. 

With any luck, that new date is just a 'worse case scenario' and they are still stiving to get them out ASAP.

You're lucky...just cancel your order - this thing doesn't work.

Or feel lucky that maybe between now and then they start releasing a version that doesn't lock up on the Formatting screen forever...or that doesn't mangle pdfs...or that doesn't give you a string of Adobe error messages before locking up...or that doesn't freeze with a bright grey touch screen and a blank page....or....

I'll say it again: The nook is the best advertisement for the Kindle that anyone could ever imagine.

I'd love to discuss this with Barnes and Noble instead of screaming into the void here, but now I'm at 22 minutes on hold with their support....I wonder why so many people are calling tech support...?

I guess while I'm waiting I'll head to all my high tech social networking options and make sure no one else gets suckered in.

I ordered on November 5th with a shjp date of December 11th.

Got a message from B&N stating my Nook was shipping and that I would have expedited overnight shipping, getting it to me on or by the 18th.

Now I checked my account and "order status" page.  It indicates a new ship date of December 21st!  This is just awful customer service!

Ordered the 6th of Nov, expected ship on the 11th of Dec, got email yesterday that I'll have it in hand before the 18th of Dec, checked email this morning and that email is missing off the server.  Went to status page and now show an expected ship date of the 21st of Dec.

THEY DELETED THE EMAIL OFF MY YAHOO ACCOUNT!  WTF!

*and yes I checked my trash and spam folder.  the email has been recalled from my account.

I posted this in another forum, but though it would be relevant here, too.

There have been many angry posts on these forums as customers have gotten email notices in the past that shipping dates have changed, but then say that their shipping status had not been changed in their order status on the web site. B&N might have decided to change this practice in an attempt to make customers happy, but maybe they could only do it by batch updating everyone with an original Dec. 11th ship date - making it more feasible to change it to the latter date for everyone so that no one who was scheduled to receive it on the 22nd got confused and thought it was coming earlier. Just a thought.

I responded to another post of yours stating this, but wanted to respond here, as well, so that no one else would be concerned about this misinformation.

No explanation why you don't have it, but have confirmed from a couple of IT guys (including my husband), that Barnes cannot rescind/recall emails they've sent out. "It won't work," and "not possible" are a couple of the responses I've had to your situation. Maybe Yahoo's having an issue.

Did you complain to Yahoo that someone has accessed your account and removed a email?

Actually that's a good idea. Call Yahoo. They can explain to you why it would not be possible to B&N to recall an email off of your Yahoo account. That should be a relief, right?

We have just updated the Dec. 11 thread with this information: The date in the email you got yesterday is the correct date. Do not fret the date in your online order status ... The date in the email is the right one for you.

And, would you mind sharing how you received the tracking number and notice?  Were you sent an email or was it posted on your order status page?
