I have had some ebooks with chapters out of order and with the final lines of chapters missing. Who proofreads these transcriptions. I know the Gutenburg project has multiple levels of editing to make quality a serious issue. I would think authors would object to their works being ruined.
I continually get emails from B&N about new releases from favorite authors and then I find out there is no ebook. If I look on Amazon I find kindle versions galore. Is there a conversion or did I just buy the wrong reader.

Actually, there's a lot of choice out there for the nook. When I can't find something on B&N, I''ve purchased from fictionwise, ebooks.com, books on board, websubscriptions and even sony. You'll have to download adobe digital editions and the sony ereader for their books, then transfer into "My Documents" on your nook. The free software Calibre is very effective at managing the ebooks from non B&N sources.
I was hesitant about sideloading hte Sony epub book because of the DRM issue, but my nook had no problem with it.

My experience so far is if you wanted the best selection from the device with the lowest prices you bought the wrong device - for now. I'm having the same issue. Sometimes I find it at kobo and other places but not as cheap as Kindle. The story is much better than when the nook launched and I think it will continue to improve (or hope).
