does anyone know the return policy on the nook and what the restocking charge
is? I was hoping to return it if the restocking is not too much money.
thanks

Information such as this can also be found on our nook FAQ page.
This is the return policy:
You can return nook within 14 days of receipt. Either call 1-800-THE-BOOK (843-2665) for a return authorization or return it to any Barnes & Noble store. A 10% restocking fee will be charged to customers returning a non-defective device that has had its shrink wrap removed and/or seal broken.

Josh, in speaking to CS about an issue I had a few weeks ago they informed me that the return date was extended to Jan 31 for all customers so that they would have the ability to evaluate the nook with the update that was coming (supposedly by the end of January). I'm not intending on getting into a debate on this (I love my nook and will wait patiently for the update to be tested fully), just trying to get clarification if that was a valid comment by CS and/or if that is being extended further to accommodate the update not out yet.
Note: This reply is not meant for flaring up discussions on problems with the nook or the release date of the proposed end-of-January update
Thanks-

@ eric_sf: You're correct. The return date was extended to January 31st as you have said.

Since it is Feb 1st, I missed the return date, so I will probably try to sell
my nook outright. If there are any serious buyers, I would be happy talk
about selling my nook.

@dazzo51 - This is why I was trying to clarify if the return date was being extended to account for the update not being release yet.
@Josh_W - If there is revised information in the coming days about extending the return date further (again, related to the release of the update), could you please let us know in this thread? Thanks in advance-
