Shipping time?

I'm heading to Las Vegas on November 2nd.  How are these being shipped out?  Will they be scheduled to arrive at my house on the 30th or are they waiting to ship them out until the 30th?  I'd love to have one ready to go for my flight but that's not going to work unless they're shipping them out to arrive at my house on the 2nd.  I'm going to be gone for too long to leave this sitting outside my door while I'm gone.  Has anyone seen any information regarding this?  I'm ready to order but this is making me wait.

Right now, we're saying that nook ships at the end of November. We're going to post more specific information as we have it. It'll also be available in select stores at that time.

We want you to have nook before your trip!

I would like more info on the shipping also. It may be easier and faster to go to a B&N and pick up a Nook there.

Okay, I just pre-ordered my nook online, and when I checked the status it's saying it won't be shipped out until Dec. 11!  Why so late?? I would have just gone into a store to buy it if I knew I'd have to wait an extra week and a half. Funny this is, my nook cover is being shipped out on the 30th instead. GRR!

i'm guessing they are already on back order, given the later shipping date.  You can always cancel your pre-order and just go to a B&N store if that waht you want to do.

Chances are, the store wouldn't have a stock to sell you (they'll probably only have demo units at first). If you waited until Nov. 30th to go in-store, you would just have to order one and get in line behind everyone who has pre-ordered, probably pushing it off past Dec. 11.

I ordered mine on 10/28.  On the 30th, I had gotten an e-mail from b&n stating that due to the responses, anyone ordering after the 30th wouldn't be shipped till the 5th of December.  So obviously, there are still lots of people ordering!

I wonder why mine was 12/15.  I am a B&N member so that shouldn't matter.  Hmmmmm

Just ordered mine (really would have preferred picking one up in a store, however after calling all the B&N stores in San Antonio, I was told stock in store would probably not be a reality this year).  Ship date for me is the 11th of December.  Hopefully there are no delays in shipment cause after the 18th of December I won't be in town.

I spoke with my local B&N store that said they will have a demo on November 30th but no units in store to sell.  He wanted to let me know that no store within a 75 mile radius would have units available for sale. Also, he said if I order it online now, the ship out date would be December 11th?  Is this correct?  Is preorder demand this high?  If so, if I delay any longer, will I be shut out getting the unit by Christmas?

Yes, I confirmed this with a B&N store assistant manager tonight.  Early pre-orders ship the 30th.  Last week's pre-orders ship 12/7.  Pre-orders made now will ship 12/11.  For those delaying to pre-order until you see the demo nook in your local store (if your local store isn't one of the ~100 that will have a kiosk and actually sell the nook) in late-November, pre-orders then may not ship until after Christmas, at this rate.  Right now it's 11/6, and 24 days before the nook is officially released, and pre-orders now will go out only two weeks before Christmas.  Just something to consider...
