micro sd help

I got a 16 gig micro sd card my nook see the card but none of the books on it. I have gone in to my Docs and told it to look for new Content but still nothing. Any ideas? Do I need to format? If so what kind of format? Does it matter if the books are in folders?

I know the Answer must be on the boards somewhere but I can’t find it. Thank you.

Re: micro sd help

Did you put any ebooks on the new microSD card while your nook is hooked to your computer (by dropping the books into the assigned drive for the card through file explorer)?  After having done so, the books will be visible in your nook under My Library | My Documents.

What an amazing sentence that was.

When you hook the nook up to your computer can you use the file manager of your computer and see a list of ebooks on the card?

Were the Ebooks in a subdirectory or just tossed into the root of the microSD card?

What format were the ebooks you put on the card, and how did you put them on the card?

That brand of card is it?

When you look at Settings on the nook, how big does it say the MicroSD card is?

Re: micro sd help

I think the user guide has the answers you seek; it's on the nook. I'd review those steps to verify you've copied them correctly (worked for me).

Manual also here-> http://images.barnesandnoble.com/pimages/nook/download/User_Guide_nook.pdf

Manual ain't half bad as far as manuals go. View it on your computer so you don't have to go in/out of it and can follow the steps better. Trying do follow steps "on the nook" while viewing the manual "on the nook" could be a bit more difficult :smileyhappy:

[ Edited ]

I have a Kingston 16GB card and most, but not all books (PDB) loaded onto it are visible to the nook.  The card mounts properly to my Macbook and Ubuntu computers and the capacity shown is correct.  Books are in folders with names of authors.  At first I thought that only older books were the problem, but it has happened with some new ones as well.  When I move these books to the nook's internal storage, they become visible.  There is also a problem with display of some titles and authors, usually just gibberish.  The content of these books seems to be intact.

Re: micro sd help

I was loading books on to the Card Via the computer, without my nook being hooked up. After many hours of fighting with the card, the nook, and the computer, I found out the card need to be formatted to Fat. Trial and error always seams to work. Thank you all for your help.

Can we ask....

What was it formatted in prior?  Or was it not formatted at all?
