new nook-battery won't fully charge-please help

Just received a new nook as a gift. As per the instructions, plugged it into the wall to charge. Despite an overnight charge, the yellow charge light never went away (the instructions stated the light would go off when fully charged), battery is only 75% charged and won't go higher. I'm wondering what's going on as this is a brand new device. Any advice/ help? Thanks so much!

Use the nook and enjoy it.

When it warns you its time to recharge, ignore it till its down to 5%.

Then recharge fully. 

It will be fine.
