nook & ManyBooks.net files

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else on the forum, so I'm going to ask if anyone else is having this problem with nook.

I can't open any of the free ebook files from ManyBooks.net on my nook. I downloaded them all in PDB format and when I try to open them on nook it gets stuck on the "Formatting..." message. Has anyone else had this issue?

Has anyone tried the ePUB format from ManyBooks on nook?

I just had this same problem last night. Over the long weeks I spent waiting for my nook, I downloaded 100+ books from manybooks.net, all in .pdb format. When I tried to put them on my nook yesterday, they came up with all sorts of jumbled characters in the "My Documents" list. Even though the cover art showed up at the bottom of the page, the books never opened. The nook just said "Formatting" endlessly.

After calling B&N CS, they suggested that I try getting .epub format books instead. I re-downloaded all the same books from manybooks (a loooong process), and they work beautifully now. My nook has no problem accessing any of them. The formatting is super fast. The cover art shows up at bottom. And the title and author shows up perfectly in "My Documents." Download the .epub files from manybooks, and enjoy your nook!

I don't know about the other format; but I downloaded them in epub last night and they worked perfectly! Quick and painless too!

I always download from Manybooks.net in epub format and those work wonderfully on the Nook!

Thanks for all the responses! I downloaded them all in PBD format thinking that if B&N sells their books in that format then that was the one to go with. Guess I was wrong. =P I'll go download them all in ePUB format now...
