So what are we doing after POV?

I have been kind of AWOL and not writing for a little while and just noticed that we are on our last scheduled topic. I was thinking this was a continuous kind of board, but I don't quite remember what was said when it started. Does anyone have any idea what comes next?

Oh I think there are some great plans. Backward plotting has been mentioned as well as opening paragraphs. Fear not! I think there is still much to do.

I'm also wondering what is going to come next. Though I have yet to write something for the POV assigment. Plus I feel like I've been ignoring the idea I started for this class. I think i'm going to make sure I take a few minutes each day now to jot something down for this. :smileyhappy:
Can't wait to see what the next classes are going to be about.

Re: So what are we doing after POV?

Hi, all -- Jessica's been taking a well-earned vacation, so the housekeeping has gotten a bit behind schedule. Have no fear, however -- the next topic is in her hands and will be posted as soon as she gets back. After POV, we'll do a segment on Dialogue, and then we'll move on into a plotting workshop and greet our first guest author.

So get cracking on those POV exercises! ;-)

Best,

Re: So what are we doing after POV?

Will internal monologue be included in that?

I always find that harder than spoken dialogue. It's a great way to show emotion so I need to learn how to master it. But making it seem active and interesting (rather than just boring telling) is so difficult. I know it's best to layer it in in small chunks but there's still more to it than that. Doing it right is part of that elusive Harlequin voice and I'd love some analysis and excercises on this.
