WELL THIS MAY SEEM VERY LITTLE BUT I READ A PART ON STARTING SMALL SO I DID. TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT MY GRANDMOTHER PASSED AWAY LAST WEEK AND I WAS GETTING READY FOR THE FUNERAL AND ENVISIONED WHAT SHE LOOKED LIKE IN THE CASKET. WHICH WAY IT WAS FACING THE FLOWERS AND WHAT SHE WAS WEARING. WHEN I WALKED IN TO THE FUNREAL HOME I WAS AMAZED SHE WAS WEARING PURPLE LIKE I ENVISIONED AND THE CASKET WAS FACING THE WAY THAT I HAD ENVISIONED. I KNOW IT IS SMALL BUT....I WAS PREPARED BECAUSE I ALREADY PLAYED IT OUT IN MY MIND. THNAKS FOR LISTENING

I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandmother's passing, but am glad to hear that you were able to use the visualization technique you describe to help you cope with and prepare for the funeral. Thank you for sharing your very personal story; it just might help others out there to handle similar experiences...

I do hope you'll keep sharing in the discussions here, and look forward to hearing more about how you're using The Secret in your own life... So glad to have you!

My friend and I went to see the movie The Secret, and went to B&N afterwards for coffee - we were talking about the movie, and about other stuff as well.

I told her about how my new boyfriend and I had decided to be a little proactive in our relationship and to talk about how we will handle conflict in our relationship before it arises. So, we both did a little research on the internet and we scheduled time to sit together and talk about it. Well, it wasn't much long into it before we were actually having conflict! It was bizarre. I remember him saying something about how it was bringing up bad feelings and old history etc.

So, my friend related it back to the Secret and said "so, you were focused on conflict, and you ended up with conflict"!!! I was stunned and couldn't say anything! But there it was - sure enough - we had spent energy and time and thought on conflict, and there it was plopped in our laps. Egads!

So, since then I started a Gratitude Journal and I have a couple of pages on how grateful I am for my relationship with my partner. Focusing on all of the positive things that currently exist, as well as positive things that I want to see in the future. A definite change in thinking .... and I am quite sure that it will make a difference ... it only makes sense that it would!

Leslie -- thanks for sharing that experience! I'm sure that many of us can relate to uttering those ominous words: "we need to talk." And yet, so often, those "talks" can wind up causing even more strife -- it's interesting, when looking at it in the context of The Secret, isn't it?

I have two intriguing tales to share, after I read the Secret.

I was sceptical at first, but then thought to myself, what the hell, let's give this a try.

1). My husband had been unemployed for 6 months after finishing grad school. It was getting rough. So my first 'wish' was for him to find a job. I finished The Secret one Sunday night last month, and then spent the following Monday and Tuesday convincing myself with positive thought that he'd get a job. I even put up post its all over the house that said "I'm getting a job this week" - so that he'd be influenced by this positive thought too (he's even more sceptical than me). On Wednesday morning he got an interview at a great company. On Wednesday afternoon he got an offer. I was shocked. I have magic powers I thought to myself! The coincidence was just too close!

2). So then I focused on something more silly (so not to tempt fate). I decided I needed new boots. The perfect black boots, the heel just right, the fit perfect, good style, etc. I imagined that I'd simply come upon them on some website or store, and buy them (it's not easy to find the perfect boot!). And two days after my decision to get new black boots, I stepped outside of my apartment, and right outside, there was a pair of the perfect black boots, my size - 7 1/2, basically brand new, exactly the style and fit that I had imagined. One of the tenants in my apt building must have put them out for some reason (I have no idea why, they're in great condition). So weird! You just can't make this stuff up. Boots! Who knew?

So there you have it, my two Secret stories.

I'll admit, my third Wish was to win the mega millions, and that did not happen.

But, I'm working on my fourth Wish, and will let you know what happens.

Ok I have two stories and glad to tell them to someone who wont think Im going bonkers. I decided to start small like it said and manifest a cup of coffee. It was raining the other morning and I decided that I would have a cup of starbucks on my desk before 10am. I really put my thoughts into it, imagined the cup, how it would tase etc. Before 9am one of the salsemen came to me with a large cup of starbucks he had gotten for someone else who wasnt there. He said hey Jeremy is not here do you want this coffee? I almost fell off my chair.

The other one I didnt even realize at first. I have been listening to the audio book in my car. I have repeated the chapter on money over and over. I then got a phone message from my brothers exgirfriends mom who was at my wedding A YEAR AND A HALF AGO!!she said she realized that she had never sent our wedding gift and if i could email her my address she would put the check in the mail.

I am starting to enjoy this!!!!

My husband and I were having a discussion the other evening about The Secret. He is a very practical, scientifically minded person and I tend to be more flexible when it comes to how things are worded - I'm not a literalist in any language.

Anyway, Nightline came on and the topic was The Secret. The gal who lead the "discussion" was so obviously biased against anything that The Secret offered proceeded to interview person after person who bore out her own opinion. About 3/4 of the way through the show we both started to laugh - he caught it too - She was looking for negative responses, and boy did she find them. In a backhanded way, she actually proved what she was seeking to disprove - the law of attraction. I'm still chuckling about it.

Not surprisingly, it has led me to the Bible, which incessantly reminds us it is okay to accept and use God's abundance in our lives.

Hi RevMom, and welcome to the Book Club!

I'm sorry I missed the Dateline segment -- sounds like it was interesting! And yes, a bit ironic how things worked out for the interviewer -- it sounds like she quite inadvertently proved The Secret to be right on in her situation.

Have you read the book, or seen the DVD yet? Do you and your husband tend to see eye-to-eye about The Secret, or do you have a healthy debate going on?

I was very skeptical at first about the Law of Attraction but decided I would start small, I was at work and decided I would be grateful for all the good qualities my husband had, which is many. I envisioned him fishing and catching several fish, I then envisioned him cooking them, about mid afternoon I got a call from him that he had gone fishing and had caught a big mess of fish and he was cooking them for dinner that night! I couldnt believe it. I thought I would try something a little bigger to try to convinced myself this was happening so I envisioned getting a check in the mail well it took about 4 days but here it came the check was for $180.00 I was really convinced. Now I am really applying it to all my life in small steps but I really believe this is working and I am trying to stay away from negative thoughts.I have read Jack Canfield's book on The Sucess Principles and it coinsides with The Secret. Now I want the Audio so I can listen to The Secret while I am driving.

Remember the story about the feather with specific markings...in the DVD? Well, my husband told me on Monday, that he was going to really test The Secret (although he's has already embraced it). He told me he was going to draw some money to himself this week, specifically that it would have a 5 in it. He said it could be $5, or $500, but he would pull something with a $5 in the figure. He also said, it would have a torn or ripped edge, so he'd specifically know he'd attracted it. He called today, laughing heartily and said that he'd fixed a guys phones (he is a lineman) and told the guy he was going to do some extra work, to draw his lines up higher, as they were running through a tree. The guy tipped him (phone guys can receive tips, can you believe it?!) $25 dollars! He was laughing hysterically and couldn't believe it, as he was telling me this, he noticed that the edge was not torn/ripped....but right in the middle of the dollar, someone had punched out a small hole, and it was ripped back! Weird and Cool!

AS for me...I'm a professional actor that bills myself as a storyteller. I decided I would draw in more money (we have huge student loans to pay off!)...and my summer bookings have increased by 60% so far! I am tickled pink!

And, BTW, If you think $70 is too much, then you're not living in abundance...nuff said. Besides, you can get the info from just one of those sources...we bought the DVD only. It was a WELL SPENT $30! The return has already been TREMENDOUS! And it's been so much fun!

I have the best 'Secret' story. A coworker happened to mention "The Secret" at a staff meeting early in the Fall. At that point it was only available online. I didn't have the patience to sit and watch it on my computer so I waited until I had some disposable funds available to purchase the DVD; I watched it immediately upon receiving it. I decided to give the positive thinking and visualization a try. I am a single mother living in a 1-bedroom condo with my young son. I've thought that I needed to get a bigger place, but the funds are just not there; the cc debt is. Plus the idea of trying to sell my place and buy another one... and moving - not something I was looking forward to. I live in a wonderful community and have thought that I really don't want to move and that if I could just get an "A" or "B" unit, I'd be happy (ground level for my dog, 2-bedrooms). A neighbor/friend of mine was talking about buying a house and moving out of his "B" unit.... I thought, "Man, it would be the perfect place - it has a yard out back where my son and dog could play, etc." I certainly couldn't have afforded his place, but it is always nice to dream. Well, the place he was going to buy fell through so he wasn't going to move. 8 months later (2 months ago) on a Saturday I ran into him in the parking lot - he had a woman with him; he introduced her as his realtor; he was putting his place on the market. The next morning at 9:00 a.m. my dad (on the West coast) called to say that he and my mom felt that I should have a bigger place, as my son is getting older, and that they want to help me purchase it. I just sat on my living room floor and cried. I visualized and prayed that I would get a seller for my place in the amount of time that I was settling on my neighbor's place, (60 days). I had to get my place ready to show - the painters were available when I needed them, as were the carpet installers and the cleaning crew! I kept telling my parents that everything would happen in time... they were pretty skeptical. I really needed to sell my place first so that I could have the money to help me buy the other place. I had a seller for my place in 2 weeks - (a wonderful young couple)! Needless to say, I will be settling on my new place (my neighbor/friend's) and my old place in 3 days! I'm a believer!!!

Hi StarBlazer and Robsmm -- what cool stories from both of you! Thanks for sharing them, and congratulations on the success you've enjoyed!

I myself had a nice Secret-ish experience recently -- I was on the subway on the way to work, listening to one of my all-time favorite music artists (Morrissey, former lead singer of The Smiths). I was thinking about how fantastic it would be to see him in concert (it's been a few years) and, while it might sound a little silly, I imagined myself at a show. Literally two hours later, my good friend (and fellow crazed fan) called to tell me that tickets are going on sale this weekend for a June concert featuring... guess who?! I told him to thank me for using the "Secret" method -- A small example, but I couldn't help but enjoy the "coincidence" -- which may not have been a coincidence at all...

A bunch of other people have referred to their experiences as "small". None of them are small, gang. All of them are HUGE! Remember, the Universe has no concept of time, space or size.

I use it for parking spaces. I must be doing something wrong though...they always turn out closer than I pictured them to be. Isn't the huge ? !

I have been reading The Secret and I have Law of Attraction sitting on my night stand. I decided to do a small test first. My husband and I went to a casino in AZ this weekend and he always loves to play Wheel of Fortune (WOF) because he always wins at it. Also days before I started visualizing we would get a million dollars within a year. Anyway, hubby walked in the first hour and won $1800!! So we stashed half our winnings and took half back to the casino and we were playing more WOF and hubby got down real low, almost broke. I noticed that he was getting negative like, ahhhh and damn it type stuff every time he didn't win. So we decided to visualize that we'd already won and we are already spending the money and for EVERY SPIN we cheered even if we lost, because we'd already won! People around us thought we were nuts, cheering when we lost! Ha, ha! Needless to say John started winning and winning like crazy and it worked out we caught back up and walked out of there ahead! The LOA loves positive energy, cheering instead of whining and gratefulness, it is such a nice way to live.

I just finished The Secret. I haven't a secret to share yet but I have read The Power of Intention, by Dr, Dwyer which is very similar in theory. I have two stories to share.

I dropped my camera and broke the battery door. The battery kept falling out. I was at my step daughters graduation trying to get pictures of her. After she crossed the stage I went outside to wait. I was thinking "All I need is a small piece of duct tape to hold the battery door shut". One little piece would work. Just then two boys come skate boarding by me. Both boys had a roll of duct tape hanging from thier belts. I called out to them and asked if I could have a small piece of tape. Both boys skate up to me and look surprised and asked why. I showed them my camera and one boy quickly peeled me off some tape. I then asked why they were skating around with a roll of tape. One boy answered, "we are at a Art show around the corner. Everything is done in Duct tape." Sure enough after I looked real good the boys hats, shoes, belt, vest, everything they were wearing was made out of duct tape.

The next week or so I went with a friend and loaded up some lumber. Most was loaded tight and during the drive back a few boards was loose and whipping around. We pulled over to secure them. But had no tie downs or rope. I thought to myself all I need is piece of rope. I look on the ground and there is a piece of rope. I pick it up and hand it to my friend to secure the boards. That was WOW moment.
