Today my local NPR station, WNYC here in New York City, featured author Colm Toibin (once hosted at BNBC for his wonderful novel on Henry James, The Master) discussing his new book of short stories, Mothers and Sons.
During the program he made some insightful comments on reading Hemingway, Munro, McDermott and others.
Have a listen:

(It's bundled within "News War" at the top.)
Cheers,
