Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Got favorite?

My favorite Stephen King's book was Salem's Lot. I read it one night when I was a teenager and it scared me very much but I couldn't put it down. I was hooked. I also like Cell and Insomina.

My favorite books are Desperation, It, Rose Madder, Delores Claiborne, Misery, and The Dark Half! Also loved the screen play for Storm of the Century!

Re: Got favorite?

The first King book I read was Pet Semetary. It's tough to beat the first one.

Re: Got favorite?

The first book I read was The Shining....and I was HOOKED!

My favorite of all time is The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. That one captured me and made me FEEL the bugs and the cold. Next would come Cujo. I've owned St. Bernards and a Pinto Station wagon with a carburetor problem exactly like the one described. That one was horribly believable for me, and I couldn't put it down until I finished it.

My favorite would have to be insomnia because not only did I have insomnia at the time but I had just had my son and he kept looking over my head as if watching something I couldn't see.

Re: Got favorite?

The first book that I read if KIng's was Pet Semetary and it was fantastic. Then, I read The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. It was very realistic, like you said, and very thrilling. I am currently in the middle of Cujo and like it so far.:robotwink:
