Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Introduce Yourself

Reply to this message to introduce yourself to the group. Let us know which of Alice Hoffman's other novels you have read, and what draws you to The Third Angel.

And if you've read The Third Angel before, be careful not to post any plot spoilers!

Re: Introduce Yourself

[ Edited ]
I am an elementary school librarian who loves to read. Yesterday I started The Third
Angel. I have already read The Heron's Wife and have started the Lion Hotel.
Looking forward to this book discussion.

Hi Johanna,

Glad you're here.  I'm moderating this month, and I'm also a librarian--public.

Re: Introduce Yourself

I recently read "Skylight Confessions" and loved it.  It seemed to touch on all of my reading needs and so I would like to try this new book, but will need to purchase it immediately as I see posts are already on the table.  Joan

Re: Introduce Yourself

Hello everyone My name is Annie and this is my first time posting to the book club.  This will be the first book of Alice Hoffman's that I have read, which is funny because I love to read.  I am looking forward to being a part of the book club.

Re: Introduce Yourself

I can't believe I only noticed this board today. I love Alice Hoffman. I have read all her books except The Third Angel  but I will be getting that one this weekend. I just love her writing, it is so magical. The first AH book I read was Turtle Moon and I was hooked after that. My favorite is The Probable Future, but I love them all. I am excited to start her new one and discuss w/ everyone!

Re: Introduce Yourself

Hello:

This book club is very cool!

I am in a "live" book club as well that is meeting on Sunday to discuss this book which was my pick!

If any of you have good questions for me to pose or cool observations (like the John Lennon one - yes I missed that one too) for me to pass along - please do!

Don't you love reading---I do!!!
