Harper Collins UK has gathered all 12 books and 20 short stories in this massive, 4000-plus page tome. The 500 copy, limited edition book features hand sewn signatures, Winton leather casing, and four silk ribbon place holders. Also included is a map of St. Mary Mead based on Christie's description from The Body in the Library. Kate Mosse, author of Labyrinth and a die hard Christie fan, adds the introduction. And, all this for a mere £ 1000.00 which, at the current rate of exchange, is $1571.50.
All well and good, but how the heck do you read it? On your lap? I've no idea what it actually weighs, but 4000 pages of leather bound parchment seems a tad unwieldy. Did I mention it's housed in its own specially made wooden box which must only add to the tonnage? Not to be overtly stereotypical, but the thought of the average Christie fan - imagine Agatha herself if you will - lugging around this volume is borderline comedic.
Any interest in adding this behemoth to your library, or I guess it could be your library?

Found a picture of it. Evidently, you can read it on your lap...

Reminder to self: must remember to put white gloves on before reading.
But, yes, pedsphleb, she does look kind of cool!

My pleasure, Ryan.
We also have some great stuff coming at the end of the month and through July regarding Christie and PBS Masterpiece Mystery. See this link in our Mystery Board.
