Publisher's Weekly calls Unbreak My Heart, "honest, heartfelt storytelling," and young readers will empathize with 16 year-old Clemintine's predicament. Thanks to some bad, but relatable, decisions, Clementine is a pariah at school, and her summer-long family sailing trip presents her with a lot of time to wallow in her mistakes. When she crosses paths with James, another teen who's traveling along the same route, she slowly finds hope that better days await.

Walker brings a fresh take to the themes of teen feuds and young love, interspersing stories of Clem's difficult school year throughout the present-day summer adventure. And just like most real-life adolescent drama, the truth isn't cut-and-dry.

Because teen romance and heartbreak are synonymous with music, Melissa has created a Spotify soundtrack for the book which you can listen to here, and her publisher is hosting a sweepstakes with some great music-related prizing as well.

sweet! I have a soft spot for YA -- know so many people in the business. i LOVE LOVE LOVE the Spotify soundtrack idea! How easy it is for this generation to make heartbreak mixtapes, no?
