What an Amazing Few Weeks It Has Been!

Dear Barnes & Noble Readers,

What an amazing few weeks it has been! The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane made it to #1 on the Barnes & Noble Hardcover Fiction Bestseller List, debuted at #2 on the New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists, and continues to fly off bookstore shelves.

I just wanted to take a few minutes to thank you all for making Physick Book such an amazing success. The First Look Book Club gave both me and Physick Book a wonderful welcome to the world of publishing, providing invaluable encouragement and feedback. I am so grateful to have been part of that early conversation.

I also want to thank everyone who has read Physick Book as a Barnes & Noble Recommends Selection.

The best part of this whole experience for me has been hearing from readers who have gotten pleasure out of reading Physick Book this summer, and the fact that so many people have discovered Physick Book is due entirely to all of you. Thank you so much for spending time with Connie and Deliverance these past few weeks, and for opening your hearts to Physick Book. I feel very fortunate to have found this community of readers.

I hope to meet you at one of my bookstore events over the next few months, or online through Facebook or Twitter!

With warm regards,

Katherine Howe

Thank you for all the compliments to First Look readers. But don't forget it is your writing that has sold this book. Your book was a pleasure to read and a book I definitely recommend to friends. I am ready to read your next book.

I was priviledged to have read your book as a FL reader! You made the characters real and the story come alive, and I agree with pen21 that your writing sold this book! I, too, await your next book. Continued Success, Katherine!

I really could use that tomato spell It is Now July in my Massachusetts garden and still no ripe tomatoes!

Thanks for the First Look comments both here and on Tagged!

Congratulations on the success of your book. I was fortunate enough to read your book during the First Look program. It is a wonderful book due to your writing - everything just seemed to come alive. Looking forward to your next book!

ps - Like biljounc63, I could use that tomato spell - I have tomatoes (in NJ) but, none are ripe yet - I am blaming the tremendous amount of rain that we have had these past two months.

Katherine, I am so happy that TPBoDD is doing well.  It was a great read and I am so happy to have gotten a First Look copy.

We don't have a Barnes & Noble locally, so I sent my nephew to Costco for my copy.  Costco was sold out of your book, although he did find two under the table and he crawled under so he could get one for me.

I'm glad to see that Deliverance Dane has gotten a good reception! My daughter and I are going shopping tomorrow in Ocean City, MD. She is on her way to Nags Head, NC and asked me for a summer read to take along. Of course, I suggested TPBoDD. Just wanted to let you know that Connie's on her way to Nags Head!

Congratulations on your success, Katherine; how thrilling it must be to be a newly-published author!  I'm another First Looker who thoroughly enjoyed Physick Book.  Oh yes, about the tomatoes--no ripe regular ones here yet either (central New York), but I did have my first cherry tomato of the season from my garden today!

It was my pleasure to read your book.  Thank you for allowing Barnes and Nobles to have it as a First Look selection.

There seems to be moments in life when you experience a public "preview" event and some unexplainable notion comes over you that "this is gonna be big". Knowing the factors of uncountable opinions, and how so much teter toters on borderline today, your book seemed to me to be one destined for success. It is what it is. Congrats!

It was definitely my pleasure also to be part of the reading of your wonderful book with all the other First Lookers here and the #1 status is very well deserved. Please come back often and keep us updated on what your doing and I for one can't waif for the next one.

Congrats Katherine!!!

Oh! Katherine

I was so excited for you when I heard the book went to #1. Just think, a number one book, we, the first look club at Barnes and Noble.com., got to examine, whirl it around  and make predictions about it, just cut it up in little scraps and then laugh and cry some more with the author over this fabulous book that we all predicted would go far. It is a real treat to read a #1 book but of course most of the praise goes to you, how did you learn to write that great!
