As we wind down this first week of nook, we wanted to say thanks for all the enthusiasm -- and the questions.
We'll be blogging next week with some eReading related posts (and continued updates on nook, of course). If we missed your question this week, we'll circle back. Most topics have been covered at least a couple of times here and on the eBooks Help Board. You might also check out the nook FAQs.
In the meantime, we thought we might be fun to ask: How will you dress your nook? (There's suggestions from top designers on our Accessories page.)
I would like to see a cover option for the Nook similar to the Platform Jacket M-Edge (currently available for the Kindle and Sony reader) which has the hinge at the top and flips over and connects at the bottom to provide a stand for the Nook. This modified cover-stand version should have an adjustable strap so you can vary the angle and work so that you could flip the Nook in the cover so that it could also be at a lower angle as well.
I'm really loving the Alice Cover in Paper. This probably isn't the place to ask, but would the nook still fit in covers with the rear cover? I would probably keep it in the cover when I go out, but I would like to have a rear cover when I'm reading around the house.
I really like this whole nook idea but I think the only way I'd be willing to buy it is if I could download textbooks on it. Especially if they were cheaper than the physical books. My school has it's own B&N GT and if that was set up somehow where textbooks were cheaper through nook I would definately invest in it. What are the chances of this working out?I
For a bit of whimsy I am working on a plan to print off copyright expired book covers and use them to decorate the nook. Preferably full-sized but in some kind of acrylic sleeve so they can be switched out.
I'm with GTMEgirl. Would love to have an eReader that I could get my textbooks onto. Will it ever happen? I've been nagging Amazon to get some textbooks onto the Kindle, but it hasn't happened yet. Maybe B & N will serve us college students better. Sure do like the Nook's color display. Would get one, but can't justify it as long as I'm chained to back-breaking textbooks. Wouldn't it be nice to go sit under a tree or next to a cafe fireplace with one of these Nooks? If I had time for recreational reading, I would definitely consider buying one...... sigh....
GTMEgirl, We do have digital editions for some textbooks. and you can find them by searching our eBookstore. We are activel working with all the top textbook publishers to provide digital editions that will render on nook and other supported devices.
I like the covers that are currently on the website, however I wish there were some purple ones to choose from. Hopefully there will be in the near future.
