Last Week

Though the book club forums, as many of you know, stay available indefinitely, moderation of this club will be winding down to end on Friday, May 2nd. Let's use this last week when folks are still checking in regularly to unfold any more discussion that may be of interest to you about Villette.

The next B&N Classics book club that I will be moderating will begin Monday, May 5th. We'll be reading Jane Austen's novel, Mansfield Park. I hope you'll join us!

Re: Last Week

Hi...I stumbled back to B&N Book Clubs after a while away (I didn't like the new format).  I thought I'd check it out again and see what's being read.  So sad for me that I've, essentially, missed Villette!  I read it a while back and enjoyed it and would have loved re-reading it with a group.  So...I'm going to re-read it for myself and then join you with Mansfield Park, another recent discovery that I thoroughly enjoyed!

Thanks for picking out these wonderful novels!  Now for some future Elizabeth Gaskell and Wilkie Collins! (OK, you've probably had those authors in the past few months and I've missed them as well.  Oh well...just glad to come back for MP!)

Re: Last Week

Welcome back to the book clubs, Nancy!

Feel free to jump in on the Villette board here if you'd like.  The boards remain open even after I must move on as moderator.  I'll "look" for you over on the Mansfield Park board next week!

Re: Last Week

Connie, thanks for all your work moderating this group!  I wish more people had participated, but I have enjoyed what discussion there was, especially with Jen!  Maybe Mansfield Park will fare better, given Jane Austen's popularity.  I started rereading it last night!
