Re: Coffee Shop: Off Topic in the Writing Room

So, I was at the movies to see Men in Black 3 and was watching the previews and one pops up, showing the inside of a space ship, then showing a Firefly-like ship landing, and I was like "OMG, it's Serenity 2! I knew Joss Whedon would come through and give us another one" . . . and then realized it was just Promethius :smileysad:. It makes me sad.

Re: Coffee Shop: Off Topic in the Writing Room

Saw Men in Black III; it was better than Snow White and the Huntsman.  That one, I sat through the movie thinking, I can write better...(Bad movies are one of my greatest muses, knowing how poorly the storylines have evolved and then going out and weaving my own.).

This will be the first summer since I graduated high school that I won't have any summer college courses.  I figured I would catch up on my reading and writing, between work and rambling about with the Rue Dog.  It seems my cardiac data had other plans.  The readings have not been good.  They have scheduled an echo and an angiogram...:smileyfrustrated:  'Forget the zebras...' my cardiologist said, 'you are a unicorn, (a.k.a. A very rare, if unusual, specimen.)'  I hate being a unicorn.

(Ends rant, steps off soap box, disappears into the shadows...)

Sorry to hear that, Darkkin. I hope things turn around for you. And yeah, I don't think I would like it if someone called me a unicorn either :smileyvery-happy:, for various reasons.

Ehh...I'm just crabby because my chest has been hurting non-stop for two weeks.  Venting a bit of spleen took the edge off.  Still on my quest to find my shiny object...Shiny?

Has anyone seen Beginners? I swear, if I didn't love Ewan McGregor before, I would have after I saw that movie. His interactions with that dog Arthur, oh it's just too cute. Random tangent before going to work: Done.

Well, Rue Dog has a new friend, a stuffed pig aptly name Bacon, who is nearly as big as he is.  Rue adores Bacon and has learned a new trick.  Save the Bacon.  Yell 'Save the Bacon' and Rue will run to rescue his pig, no matter where we hide him.  LOL.  I love my dog.

That's just too cute! Hey, if I send Bella over, do you think you could get her to do something. She could quite possibly be lazier than I am :smileyvery-happy:.

Re: Coffee Shop: Off Topic in the Writing Room

Wet night in Bluff Country...It has been raining hammers and tongs since about 7:00.  It eased off just long enough for me to get home from work. (Apparently somebody upstairs likes me...:smileytongue:)  No sooner did I walk in from the garage and it began pouring again.  Rue is snoring in his crate and Smudgie is clinging to me like a limpet, she hates rain.

[ Edited ]

A single chapter is all that remains until the end of The Traveller: Bella's Tale is complete.  This board and its participants have been a huge help and inspiration.  I don't know where some of my pieces would be, or if they even would be without this board.  Best of luck to all of you and hope to see you in print.

Re: Coffee Shop: Off Topic in the Writing Room

You're saying this just to taunt me, aren't you? One chapter away . . . it's crazy. I may have figured out what was going on, but now . . .

So, you're going to send me a message of when your stuff is getting published, right. It's not like I can look out for your name, since I don't know it :smileytongue:. It would be easier. And you would know that I would go buy it. If that's not incentive, I don't know what is.

Ugh. I don't know why I do it to myself. I watched Lady and the Tramp today (haven't seen that one in years) and now have "He's a Tramp" in my head. Gotta stop watching these old Disney movies with their catchy songs.

Re: Coffee Shop: Off Topic in the Writing Room

My last story is posted. It's so sad.

I think we need to get the Off Topic Thread to an even 100. I don't like odd numbers!
