Falling In Love

Hey guys, let me know what you think.

Falling In Love

I thought I’ll b strong

And never fall.

I thought I’ll be different

From all the other girls in this world.

I thought I’ll never feel

That strange feeling

Whenever I see him go.

Boy, was I ever wrong?

This is new to me

For I’ve never felt this way before.

The realization came as a shock

And my heart became sore.

I hated to think

That it made me vulnerable.

I shouldn’t be weak

And find myself tremble.

 Why should I care for someone

Who doesn’t care for me?

I shouldn’t give in to my heart

But stood on the ground firmly.

But here I am,

Hurting so badly,

And all because

I fell in love.

haha, I haven't fallen in love - not yet anyway.. guys don't have appeal to me; don't know why, maybe because I grew up with lots of boys (most of my cousins are boys)..so yeah..

Hi Moon!

Very intriguing poem!  And very much on target, as to how we feel when we fall in love.  I wrote haiku poetry by the dozen after I met my hubby.

And Love Poetry is a genre unto itself.  A few centuries ago, men courted ladies by writing them poems.  Including when gentlemen of status could hire a starving writer to write love letters and poems to their intended (in the nobleman's name, of course).

And some of the better songs of the last century were beautiful love songs.  Think of "WHAT'S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT?", or the song from the musical "Camelot", "IF EVER I WOULD LEAVE YOU ..." when the King describes his lady-love thru the seasons, and decides he can never leave her.  Truly beautiful!
