Valerie, I echo Moon—do post your work! This is a really supportive environment. I think you’ll find comments constructive and often uplifting.
Welcome, Susanne. I know how hard it can be to share work. It does get easier the more you do it, though!
I hope to see some of your work soon, Valerie and Susanne.

Hello everyone, my name is Candice Gilmer, and I'm a writer. I'm a mommy, a hairdresser and wife too (never in that order, lol), and I spend my days taking care of these short people that live here, as well as working on writing.
My sixth ebook, The Reluctant Prince, is coming out next week from Samhain Publishing, and all my books are available as ebooks, as well as several are in print as well.
I've been telling stories since I could speak, but I only got truly serious about writing about five years ago. And I can't seem to stop.
Nice to meet everyone here. ![]()

Hey I'm jenna I write poetry and short stories mostly but ive been working on a novel for the past couple of years..I guess I joined this club well to be honest I've never shared my writing except with teachers for school assignments. I would go to poetry nights and have my journal with me and everybody would be just so damn good I felt like a idiot and walked out. I've been writing since I was 15 when a teacher told me it was a good way to get over emotional stress after losing a best friend and now its become my life and I guess its time to suck it up and let someone read it...lol so if it sucks be brutally honest..I can handle constructive criticism...
hope to write and read with yall soon...

Welcome! A lot of writers feel the way you do about sharing work. It can be very difficult. Hang out here, participate in discussions, and see how feedback goes. That may help you feel much more comfortable about putting your work out there. I think you'll find this is a very supportive community. I look forward to reading your work.

Hi, I've been online quiet a bit the last few days and was pleased to find a writing circle on B&N. I work as a part-time bookseller, full-time student and writer. My screen name Darkkin is taken from the second series of novels I'm currently working on. I live in an area that has a dearth of writing groups and was excited to find this group.

Hi! My name is Elizabeth and I consider myself in the early stages of becoming an author (the very early stages). I first started writing in sixth grade (I would finish my work early and had nothing better to do then let my imagination run wild on the page). Ever since I've started at least 5 novels and written lots of poetry. Right now, I'm working on one book and I've gotten about 6 chapters into it. I hope to finish it before the summer ends. I'm so excited there is a writer's group on here to talk to other writers and share ideas!

Hello Writing Room!!
My name is Zack Kullis. It has been quite a while since I have been able to visit the site, but it is very nice to see some familiar names! I have been on a lengthy TDY (temporary duty assignment) for work. I am involved in law enforcement, Federal to be specific. The nature of the assignment kept me from being able to visit the Writing Room.
Writing has been a pastime of mine since the early 80's. I love to read, which I think is a very important part of being able to write well. Like some of the other members here, I am working on a novel (nope, still not finished). Unlike some, I have not been published.
I have lived in various parts of the US, and in various countries around the globe. I pride myself in being a gentleman. I have witnessed some very bad things, and have had to work some horrific cases, and I think that has made much of my writing and taste in literature a little dark.
It has been good to "meet" people here again!!! Cheers to everybody!!!!!! ![]()

Hello! And Welcome back, Zack! I know I've seen you before, but where, I'm not sure.
I'm a wanderer.
Keep a smile on your face, and out of that dark place!
I agree...reading, and also balancing our reads with experiences, are very important to writing.
What is life, but to live it and write about it?
Have fun!

Hey guys,
I guess I'm still kind of new here, joined about a month ago. I'm 20 years old and love writing as a past time. I've always used it as my outlet when I'm mad or upset. Needless to say i'm currently working on a story about my horrible freshman year roommate. I had wrote about certain encounters to get them off my chest, and have decided it could make a funny book.
I go to a tech school, so writing is few and far between here, so I joined as a way to see others pieces have have people read mine. So far I really like it.
Mallory

Hello! My name is Paola Gutierrez. I am 34 years old and originally from Peru, but have been living in the United States for about 21 years. I'm currently going to Rollins College to get my Bachelor's degree in English Literature with a minor in Writing. I have about 10 stories in my head everyday, but never have the time or I think the courage to put them in paper. I hope that the studying and this type of message board will bring out my inner writer. I really look forward to meeting like-minded people who love the art of reading and writing!
A poet is, before anything else, a person who is passionately in love with language.
W. H. Auden

Welcome, Paogut! I'm so glad you've joined us. Have you been by the Keroac House? It's not far from Rollins. They have some excellent readings and events.

Hi everyone I'm Parker and i'm new to this place. I have tried to write books but always hit writer's block and eventually forget about it. I live in the U.S and I love to read.

Hello everybody! My name is Travis McGregor. I live in Indiana but am originally from Wisconsin. I love to write, watch horror movies and read books. I am going to school for a degree in Psychology. I love anything that is complex and mysterious. I like the human brain, thoughts, dreams and just how we function. I am 23 years old. I have just recently started attempting to try and write a book or a short story or something. I am finding it extremely hard to find original ideas on what to write about. I eventually want to be able to write a novel. I'm not wanting to make money or even get it published, I just want the knowledge, experience and the fun that writing has to offer. Well I can't think of anything else to say right now so..Nice to meet everyone, hope to be able to talk to everyone and discuss things and explore the world or writing. ![]()

Welcome Travis and Parker! This is a lively and supportive community. I'm glad you found us.
Mallory, a big welcome to you, too, but I know you've been around awhile. I'm glad to see the introduction post to learn a bit more about you.
