Re: The Hunt for the Head, Second Volley.

Violet Bright, Lily Star

But to this plague the Eyes of the Tower,

Where blind.

The Horn into that Hammer bound.

Took the sight of the Elven crowned.

Until the path of Fleetfoot's Flight,

Touched down upon the devastated land...

And a femur, light and swift,

Into Lily's hand,

Did drift.

Then cry all bloody hell...

The blinkers were burned that day.

As a cloak of grace was stripped away.

Lily to her knees was driven,

As the truth of the Goblin march,

Was laid out before her eyes.

There was no shroud.

No place to run or hide.

This was a secret no longer to be denied.

And it was Violet, who found Lily,

Crumpled upon the bank of that now bloodied stream.

She, who woke Lily from her crippling dream,

And into her sister's ears,

Lily poured forth the tale...

Of wrongs and woes.

Of death and tears.

Violet swallowed hard, knowing the time at last had come.

She drew her sister to her feet,

Knowing Lily's story,

She was fated to repeat.

Into the princess's hand she pressed the bone.

'Take the femur unto our father now...'

'To our King I shall go...'

'And unto them these truths'

'I shall pass.'

'But how will you do this, Violet Bright?'

'Never mind the bended truths I begin to weave, Lily Star.'

'Take that bone and wait 'til dark.'

'Find our father, he will know.'

'To the Lore Caves you must go.'

'For the time has come at last...'

'For us to break free of the shadows of the past.'

'War hammers upon our door.'

'Stand strong. Stand now.'

'All who live are bound to fade someday.'

'The only questions that remain are...'

'When and how.'

'Some have the power to pick the way.'

'Fate...That fickle friend of mine, she gives us a choice...'

Violet murmured in a broken voice.

'Take that bone while time remains.'

'Find our father, seek the Last.'

'Come the dawn, out across the Vale...'

'You will see the banners of the Tower flying.'

'And up and down this swath of green, carrying across the forests great,'

'The horns of war will once more wail.'

'The guard will be mounted awaiting your return.

'Go now, Lily Star...'

'Run fast...Run far...'

'I promise as long as I draw breath I will not let the Tower burn.'

The rest of this tale is known to all.

How Lily Star, elven princess darke and faire,

Drew her blade and cut her hair.

Into the night she carried that bone.

And quiet Violet Bright to her word held true.

With the coming of the morning,

The mighty Tower Horn rang out into the blue.

It was the song that passed down the day,

Calling Fleetfoot back Lily's way.

The Crossroads of Fate at long last were reached,

As the Lore Horn now rang out.

Clarion bright and true.

Into the Lore Caves,

Into the deep...

Did that song echo and seep.

Into the deep, deep heart of the world,

Down through the tunnels...

Warrens and catacombs...

The tombs and doors.

Carried the war cry of the Lores.
