I was almost about to cancel my nook order due to lack of books.  I checked this morning and noticed much more book available.  Is BN currently added books as we speak to reach the 1 million book mark by launch?

If you do a search for " * " in the ebook store it returns 1,021,241 eBooks as of right now.

I guess the loophole is the free Google books. I don't mean those, I mean various in print books I can find on Kindle or Sony. :3

I have searched all over these boards and cannot find whether Wikipedia is also installed as well as the dictionary.  Thanks for your answer.

Wikipedia is 1) not a static document and 2) too large to be installed on the nook. Access to Wikipedia is why many are wishing for a web browser on the nook, even if it is restricted to just a few sites.

Yes, they are constantly adding new books.

actually there are offline versions of Wikipedia.  They take up about 4Gig of space.  So yes you could put it on a micro sd card and use it on the nook if you were so inclined.

The only thing worse than a large amount of dubious information presented as facts that may or may not be correct is a large amount of dubious  out-of-date information presented as facts that may or may not be correct.

Since nookieJH posted (8 hours ago) that the ebook store at B&N had 1,021,241 eBooks, they have added exactly 24.

At a rate of 24 per 8 hours, or 3 per hour. Barns & Noble should break the 2,000,000 mark in a little over 37 years.

Wonder what kind of eReader we will have then?

Remember keep in mind, Nook is taking its infancy steps. Once out, let's watch it walk and then run toward the changes and future steps that need to be made.

Also, keep in mind, some days they might add 1,000 of books and some days 5 or 10 [exaggerating].

But yeah.
