Two New Nook Glowlight Pluses get an error Message "Loan Token Update Failed" when trying to open epub books copied to My Files Folder from Adobe Digital Editions. I noted many others with the same problem and that B & N Glowlight Plus and that B & N support is working on it. I have two complaints. One, the new Nooks should work easily on library books. That was their original "claim to fame." They have apparently been a problem on and off since the introduction over a year ago. Two, it is unacceptable that the new Nooks don't show up as a Drive on ADE. The original ones did, as did the Simple Touch with Glowlight. We have two of each. That enabled easy transfer of library books from ADE by just dragging the book to the Nook in ADE. The side loading now required for the NGP is ridiculously complicated and frustrating. B & N need to get this fixed or this product will fail. If the current inability of the NGP to even read library books in not fixed soon, we will have to return both of the new one we purchased.
In another poll created today - inspired by reading Ellen Gans' Moneycrashers article, "5 Free Public Library Services & Resources You Should Take Advantage Of" - I asked How many library systems do you currently belong to?
The article and its commenters noted that library patrons can - among other things - borrow ereaders, audiobooks, and ebooks, as well as download free media, e.g. from Freegal Music. Consequently, this poll asks:
"Has your use of audiobooks and ebooks affected your patronage of public (or other) libraries?"
