        This raises a point I raised early on. If B &N wants to be at all responsive and responsible, it should restore the direct load feature to the NGP.  That feature still works with the first two generation Nooks and with most, if not all, other ebook readers. It is hard to imagine why the company that basically pioneered making ebook readers work with library ebooks, now sells the least compatible product.

          fyi, my Library tax was $106.91 in 2016 property tax.  Libraries lend and we choose to borrow.  This is about a method we use to read, a company that supplies a product for that method, the warranty promise that the product will work and the breach in that promise.  Nobody is undercutting B&N; this was(!) a selling point.

            I purchased my NGP mainly to download library books.  It has never been an easy process and setting it up to begin with was a real pain.  Now, with the loan token update failed error issue, I have spent money on a product that I am unable to use for the purpose it was purchased and it is beyond frustrating.  B&N PLEASE fix this problem SOON!!  Otherwise, I will not buy any more of their products for myself or as gifts, and I don't think I am alone in this decision.  

             

            Alex, please give us an a more definitive update on WHEN this issue will be resolved.

              A number of us have commented on the fact that B & N has made the NGP the only ebook reader that does not allow itself to be seen as a drive in ADE, thereby making the NGP the least compatible device for transferring library ebooks. I, for one, believe that by blocking the NGP from ADE intentionally, B & N has caused the loan token update failed problem. I could be wrong, but since all earlier versions of Nooks (I have them all) are recognized in ADE and do not have the loan token update failed problem, it does seem likely that may be a root cause of the problem.  In any event, Alex Garcia, or someone at B & N, should at least respond to our requests that the NGP be unblocked in ADE so we can direct load library ebooks.

                This problem was first identified on Nov 29.  It is now December 21.  Sorry I don't buy the bs about holiday vacation.  I would understand this argument if it was identified December 20 but a month with no fix is unacceptable.  I have owned all the generations of the nook eReaders.  In all about 8 of them for me and my family.  I guess its time to finally bit the bullet and buy a Kindle.  I wasn't happy when the nook got rid of the page turn buttons but now not being able to read library books is ridicules.  And its not like I can wait another month for a fix.  I have 6 days left on a book that has been on my hold list for 8 weeks and another one just came available that has been on the list for 5 weeks.  I have a large epub library but B&N doesn't seem to care.  I can read it on an old nook (Sorry kids I need that back) and I guess that is what I will do.  FIX THE PROBLEM!

                          I would like to participate as a beta tester, Alex.  Frankly, I am quite qualified to do so, as I am a former Certified Network Engineer with a wealth of experience troubleshooting technical issues of many types, so even if we had to do something via phone or email, I am quite capable of taking technical direction.  (I also really WANT B&N to succeed in retaining their customers for the GLP!)

                            Unfortunately, your posting did not give instructions for sending you a private message, so I have to do this generally. I have two GLPs. One will no longer connect to my WiFi (I'm going to try an erase and deregister on that one) and I'm not sure which serial number goes with which device.  So,  I'll give you both.  .

                                  I have two GLPs. One will no longer connect to my WiFi and I'm not sure which serial number goes with which device.  So,  I'll give you both.    I would like to participate in the beta trial.

                                   

                                   

                                  Please let me know if you have any ideas about connecting my GLP with the Wifi authentication error.  I tried connecting with two different wifi routers on 2.4 ghz and both came up with the error message.  The other GLP connects as do my other wifi devices.

                                    The Nook HD/HD+ also doesn't appear in ADE.  You sign in with your Adobe ID on the device itself.  I haven't used mine in a while, but it sounds like it could be affected too.

                                     

                                    (I highly recommend the Kobo Aura One.  Library books are downloaded directly to it.)
