Is it possible to transfer my music from iTunes to Nook color?

I have an iBook G4 with iTunes.  I have copied many a CD into my iTunes.  I know that for music files need to be mp3 format for the Nook Color and I figured out how to convert the music files.  But I can't seem to figure out how to move these files to the Nook Color. I've tried "select all", dragged the files to the "music file" in "my files" but that doesn't work.  I've tried to export my itunes Library to the Nook but that doesn't work either.  I would be very grateful if you tell me how to do it, step by step.  Please assume I've no idea what I am doing and give me very detailed instructions.  Thank you.

I don't have an Apple computer so I don't know how to give you step by step instructions.  I will say a couple of things.  The NC will play unprotected aac files so you may not need to convert to mp3 if that is the format that iTunes used.

When I tried to use iTunes to load my NC, it worked, mostly.  No cover art was transferred and some of the albums would not play and/or were not recognized.  I had much better luck dragging and dropping the folders directly from my computer's hard drive.

The files that loaded the best by far with all artwork etc were the mp3 files bought on Amazon and mp3 files that were ripped by Windows Media Player.

I only have iTunes because someone gave me an iPod years ago.  The iPod is OK but I have never liked using iTunes and now that I am replacing the iPod with the NC, I am happy to rid my PC of iTunes.

Something that I did think of, when I used iTunes to convert a couple of albums to mp3, it put them in a new folder.  The old file folder was still left on my computer but was empty.  Are you trying to move empty folders?

          Good luck!

I am afraid I've never heard of aac files. How would I know if the CDs I've copied into my iTunes are aac or not?

Not at all sure how to do that.  I don't care whether I get the artwork copied to the NC, I only want to be sure I get the music there.

I don't think so.  To tell you the truth, it looks to me as if the original format and the mp3 format are all in the same place and I can't figure out how to separate them.
