    Trouble with Everyday Food 2011

    BrendaS78

Shows in my library, but the image where the magazine cover ususally shows says "No Image Available".  When I click on it, it goes to a black screen that says "Everyday Food" in the top right corner.  The rest of the screen remains black and won't respond when I click on it.  I've attempted to hit the reload button a few times, but it doesn't solve the problem.  I've also attempted to turn my Nook Color off and back on again, and tried to refresh again.  However, this still does not solve the problem.  Suggestions?

Im having the same issue.  Thanks for your post Brenda, looks like its not a problem with our nooks and is most likely a issue on bn's end.

that's interesting, because i contacted b&n a couple times regarding this issue.  they've had me completely erase and deactivate my nook, and also archive it and unarchive it.  the last time i spoke with them, they said they were able to download it without any problems, and suggested i keep trying the archiving and unarchiving.  they've indicated the problem is on my end not theirs.

I'm having a similar issue, though, with a different magazine.  I was afraid BN would say that.  I'll cancel my subscription before doing that- the last time I reset my NC it took me hours to get everything downloaded and organized back on all my shelves.  :smileysad:  Not cool, BN.

There's another thread about this on the "NookColor General Support" BTW, no common thread has been found, and it seems like many are not having this issue.  I don't know why some of us are.  But, you may want to keep an eye on that thread as well.

                    BrendaS78,

Question, just to make sure.  Are you saying that even after a factory reset (erase) of your NookColor you still cannot see your magazines?  If you reset your NookColor, did you reload 1.2 or stay at 1.0?  This seems like my only option, but I don't want to erase my NookColor unless I know it works.  Thanks!

For everyone else, here is what I've done: reboot, archive, unarchive. I deleted a "weird" file in my "Magazine" folder to see if that was an issue (it was a file that appeared after the update, I don't know what it was), I tried NookStudy and the magazines are fine, I downloaded them from BN.com and sideloaded them (and they are fine, except not nearly as nice to read).  Nothing is working.  I tried downgrading the software, but apparently you can't- you need to reset and then upgrade.  :smileysad:

                  • We also have the "No Image Available" for May's "Everyday Food". Archive/Unarchive and power cycling had no effect.
                  • However, unlike you, we can open it and see the contents just fine, including the cover on "page zero".
                  • From the other postings, it sounds like it's on BN's end, so we'll just wait it out, and in a few days / weeks try archive/unarchive again.
                  • Btw, noticed that the other issues show the month and issue on the cover, and May's doesn't. Also noticed that May's issue's cover says "Now available for the iPad! Download at ...". So, wondering if maybe the publisher screwed up in the e-version they passed along to BN, cause they were more concerned w/ the iPad app version than the ePub version.

just an update on this issue.  b&n had me do everything you all discribed, several times, and then concluded my problem could not be fixed.  they had to refund my money and cancel my subscription.
