    frozen on loading screen.

My NOOKcolor is currently frozen on the "Touch the Future of Reading" screen.

I was reading a book and I switched over to the webbrowser to check the weather and the device froze. I then held down the power button to force it off, it turned off. I held the power button again to turn it back on and now it just freezes at this point.

I have tried plugging it in to the computer and everything else I have read other people trying.

No matter how many times I force it off and then try to turn it back on it freezes at the same point, doesn't even load the OS which is bad news, possible kernel loading issue?

This just really sucks since it is black friday and a soggy rainy mess outside, I really don't want to have to go to the store today, its the perfect day to stay in and read!

I had the same problem too. I called B&N customer service and the problem was solved. They told me to press the power button and the homepage button (inverted U) at the same time and release it after 5 seconds.

I just picked my Nook Color up too, it worked great for about 1/2 hour.  When I inserted the sd card, music started to play.  I could not turn it off, and the "extra" page was empty.  I then tried to turn off the power, but it froze on the home screen.  The music stopped, but could not get the reader to do anything else.  I then read the other post.  What finally worked for me was:

I pushed in the power button, THEN pushed in the home button (the up-sidedown U) held it for about 10 seconds, then reader then shut off and I was able to start it up again.

From all the other posts, I bet there will be a "fix" real soon.
