Sporadic white space in the middle of sections on Nook Color

epub that I create, which look fine on Ipad, sporadically will start a new page, leaving large areas of unnecessary white space at the bottom of the previous page. I've apparently been able to resolve this issue by breaking long paragraphs into shorter ones, but sporadically, it will stil start a new endnote on a new page despite having anywhere from a significant portion to most of the previous page blank. Since the html looks fine, and the output at the same spot is flawless on the IPad, I don't believe this is some error in the source file or the resulting html, but in how Nook parses files. Any ideas please? Thanks!
