    New Yorker now available BUT.....

This magazine uses it's very own "reader".  It's quite different from the standard Nook magazine reader.  For example, there's no support for "Article View", "Pinch to zoom", or "bookmarking".  When you return to the magazine from "home", it always goes back to page 1; not where you were last reading.

On the other had, it apparently allows for embedded video and sound, and a few other features that the standard Nook mag reader does not support.

Love the magazine - not so keen on a completely different reader.

Is it going to be common for every magazine to start having it's own special reader?  Seems like a really bad idea.  Are there other Nook magazines that do this as well?
