    I just need to rant!

      First, I love my NOOK HD+.  I use it everyday with my special needs students (autistic, down syndrome, learning disabled,etc.).  I bought it using my own money because I get very little to buy supplies.  They love recording their voice when reading books.. I purchased it before Valentine's Day when they offered a $30.00 gift card when you purchase the NOOK.  I have yet to receive the gift card.  Two phone calls to CS, 6 emails and they "claim" to know nothing about the offer.  I did not imagine this.  It is the main reason I bought it with the idea of getting the gift card to purchase apps for my students.  I have every nook ever made and planned to use this one for work only.  I am so disappointed in Barnes and Noble. :smileysad:

          No, I don't think you imagined this.  There was some promo to buy another Nook for Valentines Day.

           

          Did you buy it at the store or online?  If the former, have you tried going in and talking to them?

            Forget the emails. Call in, ask for a supervisor.Make sure they are part of the 'escalations team' and get your gift card.

             

            Yes, there was a promo for a $30 gift card. Gift cards take approx 10 days from when the rep initiates it to delivery at your door. You will receive an email that it has shipped, if you dont, you will not receive it no matter what they tell you.

             

            And finally, yes, this should have been an automatic process after you buy your nook.

             

            I would, if I were you, tell the sup you want an appeasement $10 gift card for the hassle to get what was advertised to begin with.

              Go to a B&N Store with your receipt and/or a print out of your electronic invoice.

                  Looking at the image posted above, if you bought online you hould have received an email with the gift card number and PIN,  Check your spam folders. Also, you had to use the code at the time of checkout, it was not an automatic thing.

                   

                  If you bought it at the store you should have received a physical card at the time of purchase, and needed to present the coupon at that time.

                  Twice now, I have taken advantage of such a promotion and both times, I recieved no acknowledgement  that I would recieve the gift card so had no idea when to expect them to arrive. Both times, the gift card came to my email box at a random time afterwards. Once it was 2 weeks later, the other time it was a month later, though that time, it did say that I would not get the gift card until after Christmas as it was a Holiday promotion. It did come fairly soon after Christmas, but it did arrive promptly after Christmas.

                   

                  From my own experience, I suggest that you be patient, if it was a Valentines promotion, chances are pretty good that you just haven't given it enough time. I would also check my spam, etc daily to make sure you don't miss it.

                   

                  However, it WOULD be nice if BN would at least acknowledge that you would be recieving the gift card so you don't feel so anxious about it. Another example of lack of communication between BN and their customers.

                      Yep, I took my reciept back to the store and got it. It took patience but as Grandpa always said, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I was also very polite as honey collects more flies than vinegar (although I could never figure out who actually wanted the flies...). I spoke with two managers who couldn't work out how to do it exactly but ended up giving it to me anyway. I very much like having a close local store to do business with, I'm rarely disappointed.

                       

                      But Andromeda208, the above does say that online customers should expect the card around 3/7 so maybe it's just on its way?
