Transfering book samples from B&N website to the Nook Color Help me please

Well I was surfing on the actual computer site of B&N and was trying to find a Dean Koontz book that I haven't read and found one I wasn't sure about so I clicked "read sample" or whatever that button is and thought since I have the nook color cord hooked up that it would put it on there but it hasn't. Now I have no clue how to put it on the nook so I can read it. Can someone please help?

          Welcome to the nook groups.

A book doesn't transfer to your library just because you have the nook hooked to your computer. The only thing connecting the nook to the computer does is to allow you to sideload books from other places into your My Files folder.

When you purchase or select a free sample of a book, it is added to your online library. All you need to do is turn on the wi-fi on your nook, tap the library icon, select Books, then select the sync button.

The books and/or samples will download directly to your nook. If you set the viewing options of your library to view by Most Recent, you will see that the sample has downloaded.

One of the books already on your nook is the User's Manual. Read it to get a better feel for the function of the nook color and how to navigate the device.
