For Sale: 8 MB MicroSD card with Android 3.0 for Nook Color

I bought this from a dealer on ebay and decided it wasn't for me. You just insert it and reboot and your Nook Color becomes an Android 3.0 tablet computer. Remove it and reboot and you're back to a normal Nook Color. In other words, it does not affect the built-in software at all like rooting does.

$40 and I'll pay the shipping in USA.

Please send a private message if interested.

          Kidding, right?

Anyone of us can do that for free, or rather the cost of a micro sd card.  We can also go right back to unrooted if we so desire.

I have seen these discussions here and there but never a 1,2,3 how to.

              the Doc ;-}

The "how to" is on XDA as well as many other forums. I would never pay someone $40 to write an image to a card. And don't get me started on this which is the latest of my pet peeves - the devs on XDA and other sites do all the work and put this stuff on the web for free because Android is supposed to open forum all that and along come a bunch of guys who simply write the image to cards and sell them for $30 or more. The American way, I suppose! If you can't write an image to an sd card you probably shouldn't be rooting your NC anyway.

Jeez. You know, I hardly ever post on public bulletin boards because people can be so nasty... Anyway, I am an old guy. I don't like spending alot of time on the computer. I don't want to spend time figuring out how to download and write an image to a microSD card, even if I had the hardware to do so. So from my perspective, it was easier to pay somebody $40. Maybe I was robbed, so be it. But please don't insult me, just cause I'm not like you.

No one is insulting you or being nasty.

yea, you got ripped off, but does that make it right for you to now rip someone else off?

If you (or the next buyer) don't want to play on a computer...then why would you want to update the NC...after all, it is just a computer too.    If you're not "into that" sort of thing, why did YOU buy the chip in the first place?

And if you are, and now realize it's not such a hot idea, and does require a bit to technical expertise....why not just "eat" your loss and be done with it, rather than try to pass your loss onto someone else.

As others have said, those of us who are computer savvy can get it for free, anyone not computer savvy, who would pay your for the chip....is YOU ALL OVER AGAIN.

Eat your mistake, don't try to drag someone else in the quagmire you dragged yourself.

Boy do I have a problem with some of the posts on this thread.  Perspective seems to be lacking here.

First:  for those of you who start your post by saying " I am not trying to be nasty or insulting" and then you proceed to do exactly that - Perhaps you need to look up the word "hypocrite".

Second:  Let's define rip-off a bit shall we?  I spent 3 hours trying to root my NC and I was unsuccessful (not all of us can be geeks) and to put a value on that my salary breaks down to about $65 per hour.  So, what would have been a better value to me.  Pay $40.00 and get a working rooted NC or spend 3 hours of my time (approx $190.00 based on my salary) and not get a working rooted NC?  What is a rip-off to one person may be a good value to another.

Again, it's a matter of perspective.

Third:  Before you call me an idiot for not being able to root my NC try and have some perspective (there's that word again).  I have worked for the Govt. for 25 years and I am an expert in institutional investment accounting - would it be appropriate for me to call you an idiot if you didn't understand the tax implications of positive arbitrage on Muni bonds - something I consider very simple?  What is simple to one person can be very difficult to another.  I think one poster put it perfectly when they said "Rooting is not hard, however; it's not for everyone".

Again, it's a matter of perspective - perhaps that's another word that needs to be looked up.
