Not sure if it's related, but I had this problem with one card I was using in my Nook color. I finally popped it into my camera and formated it there. Oddly enough, the messages went away. I'm not sure why that fixed it, but for some reason, the formatting I did on it in my computer didn't take.
I've found a free program call SD Formatter that is excellent for formatting SD cards. I don't have the link handy, but a Google search for "SD Formatter" should turn it up.
Anyone have this problem with their Nook Tablet.
My SD card doesn't work when I power up -- it says it needs to be formatted. But if I eject it, then it is recognized. Then when I turn off and turn on -- it says it needs to be formatted again....
I bought a 16G Lexar ($17) at OfficeDepot and it works without formatting. Whag make and model you have problem with?
I've had the same problem: new microSD card, worked fine for about two weeks, then it wasn't recognized by nook. Popped it out, re-started nook, etc. still didn't work. Put it in my PC and it wouldn't receognize it either.
Did the Nook trash my card? Is it a dud card?
Nook offered to format it, but it would just hang when it tried. Formatted it on my pc, then put it in my Nook, and Nook said it needed to be formatted, Ok...go ahead. This time it worked.
Will it get trashed again? We'll see.
I got a Nook Simple Touch for XMas and both of my new 32 GB microSD cards would not be recognized consistently (recognized / not recognized during boot or after). I could copy books over then an hour later the books were gone.
I put both microSDs into my Samsung Android phone. In each case the Android OS said microSD was bad and suggested to format. About an hour ago I formatted both microSD cards and I'm using one in my phone and another in my Nook. It's too early to tell for sure but in the past hour I haven't had any weird issues as I was before.
Thanks for the tips! Format your microSD card first!
