Both these things are not possible, at least that's my understanding reading people's comments on the forums.
1) Rearranging carousel - not possible.
2) Adding your own items to carousel - not possible.
I've tried and can't find any way to do either.
is it possible to remove an item from the carousel but leave it on one of the other home pages? All I see is the option to remove from home?
Also, removing things from the carousel is pretty much a waste of time from what I've seeen. If you remove something then openn it up later . . it pops right back into the carousel.
Would be better if we had the option to completely remove the entire carousel lol. It's useless as far as I'm concerned.
A quick tip that might help:
To get the carousel off of your home screen tap the little cog in the top right corner. Under home settings you'll have a few options to choose from.
Hope this helps!
Ok I see no option to remove the carousel.
show recent drawer - unchecked
for shelf . . . inbox is checked
customize by showing these content types
checked: books, apps, tv shows, documents
That's all I have.
thans56, you can touch an item on the carousel slide it down and then over to one of the other home pages if you wish. I haven't been using it much because the little recently used drawer on the bottom right hand corner brings up a prettyextensive recently used list.
I do think placing bookmarks on one of the alternate homescreens is a good way to acces sites like facebook or wikipedia that BN doesn't have apps for. Of course one of my frequent rants is that Google and Amazon inflate their app count with bank, grocery store, news site apps that are little more than bookmarks.
Ok so a work around for those who don't like the carousel . . . . pick one of the other pages to left or right and set it up like you want. As long as its on this page when you close nook, it will open on that same page. At least mine has on 10 tries now.
