      Hi everyone,

B&N would like to thank you all for your continued support. We know that many of you use the My NOOK portal regularly and we would like to hear your feedback on the experience.

Please share your thoughts with us regarding the below:

How often do you use MyNOOK.com?

Do you find it easy to locate? Navigate?

Are there any features that you would like to see changed? Added?

If you don't use the My NOOK portal, why don't you?

How often do you use MyNOOK.com?

-- maybe once every couple of weeks

Do you find it easy to locate? Navigate?

-- yes, easy to find and navigate

Are there any features that you would like to see changed? Added?

-- not sure what the purpose of MyNook is, except as a back-up of items loaded onto my NC; having noted that, I am reminded that the only items I see on MyNook are BN items, and not any of my own sideloaded materials

If you don't use the My NOOK portal, why don't you?

-- not really sure of its purpose

I have used the My Nook portal occasionally. I don't use it regularly but I do go there sometimes to manage my ebooks and find recommendations, however, the recommendations are very limited. I would love to see an expanded recommendations module. It would also be really nice if there was a way to choose which books to use for recommendations. For example there are a few books in my library I got from the Free Friday deal. I didn't really like them but they are still being used for recommedations. I think it would be nice if there was a way to eliminate these books, so I could get recommendations that truly interest me.

How often do you use MyNOOK.com?

I use it every few days.

Do you find it easy to locate? Navigate?

Very easy to locate and navigate. I like the layout and the presentation as well. Could use maybe a little color?

Are there any features that you would like to see changed? Added?

It would be nice, although probably difficult to do, to not include books I've already purchased in the recommendations.

Over all, I like it. I like that I can go there and arrage thing on my nook the way I want them, remove delete and archive.

How often do you use MyNOOK.com?

Not very often.  Mainly when I want to go manage my library, such as deleting a book or checking to see if a recently bought book is there.  Primarily though I use the Nook for PC app on my computer.

Do you find it easy to locate? Navigate?

                 Yes and ues.

Are there any features that you would like to see changed? Added?

What I dont' like is having to sign in when going from this forum to that site.  I'm already logged in, by do i now need to sign in again?  Admittedly that is a small gripe, but it is irritating.  This also occurs when i go to "My Account."  also annoying.

Added:  What would be nice is if you could create shelves here that would then be saved and implemented on the NC.  That way you could do your organizing on your PC and then transfer that to you NC.  Also, if the shelves were saved here, people wouldn't be so frustrated when they have to erase/reregister.

If you don't use the My NOOK portal, why don't you?

It is a necessary feature so that we can view our library within the B&N world, but there aren't a lot of other reasons to go there. And, like I said, "Nook for PC" works for everything but deleting.

How often do you use MyNOOK.com?

I just checked it out - I had never been there before.  I don't see myself using it much in its current state.

Do you find it easy to locate? Navigate?

                  Easy to find and navigate.

Are there any features that you would like to see changed? Added?

I didn't see a link to my wish list there.  I pretty much only use the wish list on the BN site, since the one on the NC doesn't synch or update prices.  I might use the portal more if the wish list were easily accessed from it.

If you don't use the My NOOK portal, why don't you?

I generally manage things under "My Account."  I'm mainly a reader, with only a few apps, so there's not much I would use the portal for.

                    • once or twice a month, maybe  (I haven't gotten into the NOOK friends thing yet.)

Do you find it easy to locate? Navigate?

                    • easy to find via link on B&N site
                    • as someone else said before--why the double sign in?

Are there any features that you would like to see changed? Added?

                    • add easy to find wishlist links
                    • add forum/blog links
                    • add My Account link
                    • add  "Daily" links--The NOOK Blog, Today in Literature, NOOK Daily Find
                    • promote NOOK in-store or on-line specials here (in shopping?)
                    • show my N1E as a NOOK   (the serial number listed for my N1E is correct, yet it is listed as an "unknown device"  It looks rather sad next to my NC and NST  :smileysad:)
                    • add ability to shelve and sync with NOOK
                    • add B&N Review link

If you don't use the My NOOK portal, why don't you?

                    • because it is NOT a portal to anything except my library

Feel free to add any other feedback, we'd love to hear it!

                    • I would love to have a portal for all things NOOK.  Thanks for asking for NOOK owner comments.

How often do you use MyNOOK.com?

Never. I went there when I saw this thread, vaguely remembered checking it out at some time in the past, looked through, and kind of shrugged.

Do you find it easy to locate? Navigate?

Sures, it's easy to find. And there isn't much there to make it hard to navigate.

Are there any features that you would like to see changed? Added?

As someone else said, adding the ability to manage shelves would be nice so that it could be done on the computer and synced to the Nook. And while we're going pie-in-the-sky, the ability to move around sideloaded files into those shelves from the PC would be really useful.

If you don't use the My NOOK portal, why don't you?

I have never had any use for it whatsoever, so I've never gone looking for it.

How often do you use MyNOOK.com?

At least once a week. Since I can show up to 60 items on a page, it is quicker to navigate and saves my battery for reading and other things. Also, MyNook.com seems to be more up to date than the NC on Friend requests. The other day, I had a dozen requests pop up on the NC that were already expired. I do check frequently and NOW they are showing up? Also, I see requests to borrow a book showing up on my NC as offers to loan books. MyNook.com seems to be more accurate.

Do you find it easy to locate? Navigate?

No, I don't. I now have over 1000 ebooks in my library and over 5000 ebooks listed as books I can borrow from Friends. Sorting is limited to Title, Author and recently added and you can only go forward a few pages at a time. That is ridiculous. Browsing is impossible. Even if I know the exact book I want to borrow, it takes forever to get to the page I want. The page only shows 7 pages at a time to choose from at the top. If you choose the 7th page, next page, you'll get the 9th or the very last. If theres 45 pages..It takes a while to get to the middle of the list. So many OTHER sites have an option at the bottom and top of the page to skip directly to a certain letter of the alphabet. Now THAT is user friendly! As I get more books, it's only going to get more of a hassle to go through the lists. I don't always know the title or the authors exact name so being able to get to the general area of the listings would be a real plus. Even being able to sort by genre or searchword would be a great help but I can't find a way to do that within MyNook.com, only by the entire site.

Are there any features that you would like to see changed? Added?

Absolutely. Add options to to go directly to go to a title's alphabet in the listing, such as going directly to authors or titles that start with G. AND THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE!!! Add the ability to select multiple items on a page for archiving, deleting or moving back to the active list. Good grief, I use the website to save my battery on my NC, so TRY to make it easier to use so I have more time to READ!!

This is for the entire site, NOT just MyNook.com: IF I find a book I loved, it would make it tons easier to find MORE books like it if the category was listed. I could then go to that category to find more books in the genre. IT would be a lot more dependable way to find similar books if I could browse the category myself. Usually, B&NC recommendations are based on books I got for free and have not read yet.

If you don't use the My NOOK portal, why don't you?

I do think that using my NC to do these things are a lot easier than using the website. BUT..The wifi on really uses up battery time. If I'm already at my computer, I'd prefer to do it from there.

Feel free to add any other feedback, we'd love to hear it!

Over all, using the website (any part of it, not just MyNook.com) is very NOT user friendly. I was glad to see that the major categories have included more subcategories on my NC and that there are finally craft/hobby categories there, which can't be found on B&N itself. I also find it very difficult to find the forums if you don't know where they are to start with. They are a very valuable source of information and help so it would be both to users and B&NC benefit to make them easier to find.

I visit My Nook at least twice a week for recommendations for my next book to read, mostly. The number one improvement I would like to see is the ability to look at Samples separately from purchased books. As I recall, on my 1st edition, I could do that. When I am looking for the next  book to read, I would like to see the samples I already have as my starting point. Thanks for asking!

                          • Re: A few questions about MyNOOK.com...

                            1. How often do you use MyNOOK.com? Rarely.  I prefer to use Nook for PC or the Nook Tablet itself.  They work better.

                            2. Do you find it easy to locate? Navigate? I have no problem locating it or navigating it, but I do not like navigating it.  The issues I have with it are:

                            • Logging in – I log into my account and then I have to again log in to MyNook.com – an annoying and unnecessary step.
                            • Mynook.com still crashes.
                            • There is no longer a link to my nook wishlist from my library.
                            • No online shelf functionality – you still cannot manage your shelves online.
                            • The purchase date of items is no longer there.
                            • Can no longer sort out sample books.
                            • I don’t care for the BN recommendations next to the books I’ve purchased.  There should be a way to toggle this feature off and on so that way the people that enjoy it can and those who don’t, don’t have to tolerate it.
                            • It doesn't remember your settings, so once I get it all set up, (sorted and how many items I wish to see), when I log off and log back in, I have to do it all over again.  Frustrating!

                            3. Are there any features that you would like to see changed? Added?

                            • Wish List – would like the link to it back.
                            • Crashing Issues – please fix them.
                            • Date Purchased – would like it back.
                            • Ability to sort out sample books – would like it back.
                            • Shelves - I (and many others) desperately crave the ability to manage my nook's shelves online.
                            • I would like it to remember my settings.
                            • I want to only have to log in once to my account, not twice!

                            4. If you don't use the My NOOK portal, why don't you?  For all the reasons stated above.

                            5. Feedback:

                            • With regards to the web page design – again the functionality is just not there.  I no longer enjoy browsing for books (including the $5 and under books – as now that section includes the 99 cent apps for the Nook Color, magazines, etc.).  How about making it so I can sort the selections by type (ie books only)?
                            • The Advanced Search Feature is still broken.  I just tried it before posting about it...still broken!  This is a known issue – but still after over a year of people on the forums asking and 2 B&N Forum threads regarding it – its still not fixed.
                            • Wish List Syncing - There's no reason people should have to keep separate wishlists.  I want the list on my nook to sync with the one on bn.com and vice versa.

How often do you use MyNOOK.com?

On a regular basis to update my library and sometimes to make sure that my devices are still registered.  I don't particularly use the other features such as Friends, and Recommendations so often.

Do you find it easy to locate? Navigate?

It's relatively easy to navigate and to use.  Its interface is rather simple.

Are there any features that you would like to see changed? Added?

I would like to be able to remove items that I no longer see as relevant, like for example, old previews that show there for ever.  I would like to be able to sort my shelves directly from this area and then to see the newly organized and/or added books in their corresponding shelves.

Do you find it easy to locate? Navigate?

I didn't know how to find it, so typed in MyNook.com.  After looking for it, I do see it at the top of the page.  I actually thought that referred to the physical Nook (i.e. serial number, owner name, etc.).  Don't like being signed on here and having to sign in again.  As far as navigation goes, I found it similar to the original "Shop" feature on the NC, which I liked.

Are there any features that you would like to see changed? Added?

I like the layout pretty well.  I, like many others have said previously, wish the recommendations were more about my actual purchasing habits.  It appears that (and I know this is probably coincidental), the only books used in making recommendations for me are Free Friday books - with the exception of a children's book I bought 2 days ago.  I have made recent book purchases, so the criteria can't be just recent history.

If you don't use the My NOOK portal, why don't you?

I will probably use it in the future now that I know about it.  In the past, I have mostly used the shop function on the NC to make my purchases.  I have had the update for just over a week, and I haven't really gotten used to the new shop function. I sometimes find that the synopsis of an e-book doesn't give me the same sense of the book as going into the store and picking it up does.  I can't always tell if I have read a book based on the information provided.  It can also be difficult to figure out the order of books in a series, as the are frequently not displayed in any particular order.

I do read these forums frequently, and occasionally will move into the other areas of the B&N site.  I do think the site as a whole can be difficult to navigate.  For example, if I move away from the forums, I can never find my way back there without going to the bookmark on my computer.  I am sure the path is there somewhere, just hidden.

How often do you use MyNOOK.com?  Not very often.

Do you find it easy to locate? Navigate?  Easy to locate and generally easy to use. The sign in process is a hassle because sometimes I have to sign in twice to get there.

Are there any features that you would like to see changed? Added?  I would like to be able to create and edit my shelves there, and have them update my NC. I would like my shelves and any changes made to them on my NC to sync to MyNOOK. This way my shelves would be backed up in case I ever need to restore my NC. Shelves take a long time to organize, and it would be easier to do it in MyNOOK than on the NC. I would like them backed up.

If you don't use the My NOOK portal, why don't you?  Haven't had the need or seen the value to using it yet.

How often do you use MyNOOK.com? maybe 3-4 times ever

Do you find it easy to locate? Navigate? I hate having to log in separately. Once there it is okay, but nothing special.

Are there any features that you would like to see changed? Added?

The feature I would like the most is the ability to create/maintain separate libraries per device in a multi-Nook family. Both Nooks show up in Manage My NOOK, but there is nothing that can be done with them other than deregister. I'd LOVE to have the ability to "send" a book to Nook A or Nook B.

I'd also love the ability to shelve books and have the shelves sync with my device (a great way to backup those settings online).

I can't edit or delete my Nook Friend activity  - if I post something about a book, I want the ability to remove it or edit it, especially if I had hit "like" or "share"  accidentally on my Nook.

For the Recommendations, I'd love the option that Amazon has to customize & correct my recommendations by designating "don't use this for recommendations" on a book or app. Currently, I have recommendations that are based on Free Friday books I downloaded but then discarded. Not useful!

Integrate with the My B&N portal (which I think I can oly access now through my profile from the B&N Community). I have no idea why there is a library in both places (the green one crashes all the time), a totally different activity stream, and a very outdated "reading now". It seems like a huge waste of resources to have both and it certainly is a waste of my time to maintain both areas separately.

If you don't use the My NOOK portal, why don't you?

Having to log in additionally for very little benefit just makes me angry.

Hardly ever.  It just doesn't seem to werve any purpose.

Do you find it easy to locate? Navigate?

                                        Yes.

Are there any features that you would like to see changed? Added?

I would love it if it acted as a "mirror" so I could manage my shelves--and therby have them backed up.

If you don't use the My NOOK portal, why don't you?

At this point, it doesn't do anything I need it to do.

It's okay. I'm still not sure what benefits it has over the nook itself.

Let me organize shelves HERE and have that transfer to the nook with an autosync. That would make the site useful rather than a duplicaion of what I already have.

I'm not seeing any purpose to it. If it let me organize my library more effectively, then I'd have a reason to use it.
