    B&N Deals of the Days

    Lugaid_Llyr

B&N is offering a "Deal of the Day" half off on the Complete West WIng DVD collection,

a children's books a DTB, a CD soundtrack of Dear John and A $5.99 M Jackson Poster one day deal.

Any opinions on whether a similar dead should appear for eBooks or Nook accessories?

I wouldn't count on any nook accessories, they won't even let us use the membership discount on those.

As to the eBooks, I'm okay with them not doing so, after all, they do give us free books!  :smileyhappy:  It would be difficult anyway as along as the agency model is in effect.

As a general rule, stores don't run sales as appreciation presents for their customers. They usually run sales to move merchandise that they want/need to get rid of.

Funny thing about e-books: there aren't boxes of them stacked up in the back room.

B&N does have free e-book specials. Right now we've got "Free Fridays" and the weekly "pick up a code number" specials. These are often e-books by authors who have a new title in the same series about to come out—these e-books often have teaser chapters from the upcoming title (aka "Bonus Material"). In the recreational pharmaceuticals business, they call it "the first hit's free". (Personally, I think these promotional e-books are a great idea.)

As for NOOK accessories, they're just now getting them into the stores. I rather doubt that they've got a surplus of any accessories that they need to clear out.
