    Loving my new nook...

    MrBanballow

... after the recent passing of my four year old laptop, I opted to upgrade from a nook color to an HD+, rather than getting a new PC (for now at least). This thing is amazing, and runs circles around the recently departed. That beauty of an HD screen (Comixology looks great, as does YouTube and Hulu), that kicky fast speed, a battery that can go (much) longer than 20 minutes before needing a recharge, and a chance to try out this Android Marketplace (Hello there Onlive App!!).

      Great value for the money.

I imagine that would be quite a boost. I recently repurposed my wife's retired NOOK Tablet and am impressed on how much faster it is compared to my old NOOK Color. Have fun with it!

I've had my HD+ for a few months now and have to say I use it every day.  Is it perfect...no (no device is)...But for the most part suits my needs and I hardly ever pick up the lap top at home now.  That makes my wife and especially my daughter happy happy happy!

It's great to see a positive thread on the Nook! :smileyvery-happy:

So, minor snag tonight. Noticed that the frame surrounding the screen on one corner had begun to separate from the rest of my nook's body. Could see what looked to be little adhesive strips inside the body that should be holding the frame tight, as well as a thin line of outside light peeking through the gap.

Quick trip to B&N, and I'm home tonight updating a new nook. Kudos to the employee that was running the nook section tonight, great CS!

Congrats! Yep always found in my local B&N to be helpful and quick to resolve issues.

Me still on the Nook Color and couldn't justify a new tablet experience.

So spent $20 on a 16gb micro SD and rolled my own 10.2.2 Jellybean dual boot Nook Color. Gave it a facelift for interface and aditional feature and functuions like Google Play.

As was running older CM7 Ice Cream for last year and a half.

And the new setup will last another year I imagine.

Guess waiting for that perfect device that is color backlight about half the weight.

And gives me a week between charges :smileysurprised:
