Latest version of evernote in nook app store but it will not install on my hd+

    2pat

I have given up trying to update evernote since the nook blocks the installation and moved on to trying to install the latest version in the app store.  I've tried deleting evernote followed by turning the hd+ completely off to reset it and downloaded the current evernote app in the store, version 4.4.1 and installed it.  But when I open the app it says that version 4.4.0 is stll installed.  I sent it to the cloud and brought it back but I still have 4.4.0. and still get the notification about a new version available.

How can I remove evernote completely and download/install the new version that is available in our nook app store?  I don't consider this an update, it's installing the app from scratch.  Can anyone help me with this?  Thanks.

          1) Things that MIGHT help

          a) After you uninstall Evernote, restart your Nook.

          b) After you uninstall Evernote, get and run App Killer App from Pixatel and see if it's still installed somehow.

          c) After you uninstall Evernote, go to Apps Page, press Volume Down button and while keeping it pressed, press and Hold the 'Apps' title for 2 seconds. Note: Not sure if it's volume down or up. One of them should work.

This will bring you to an Extras Page where you can see if Evernote shows up there.

          *****

If b) or c) show that Evernote is still there after uninstall, then there might be something wrong in the app uninstaller or Evernote might be a system app.

The other possibility, and a far more mundane one, is that the servers still haven't updated to the latest version.

If Evernote 4.4.1 came out just recently, then the App Page might be updated but the servers might not.

Or, far less likely but a possibility, your Nook is sending wrong build information to server and thus not being able to update.

After deleting the evernote app that I had downloaded/installed from the Nook App Store (NAS) it did not show up in App Killer (neither Active nor Installed) or on the Extras Page.  I again downloaded/installed  evernote app (version 4.4.1) from the NAS.  The app still identifies itself as version 4.4.0.

I don't think the HD+ uses an uninstaller,  I can't find 'uninstall' as an option for apps - just 'delete'.  So it doesn't look like an uninstaller problem.

I don't know how to check the build info the Nook is sending to the server, but I don't think that would matter with a fresh install  The new install should work unless, as you suggested, the Nook server has not yet updated.  I regularly 'check for updates' with the Nook Apps menu and it has not given any updates for evernote.

I have emailed Evernote support and will let you know what they say.  Thanks for your help.

Also, there are a lot of things not clear in your first post.

Could you please talk about ONLY the Nook App Store and what you did regarding the Nook App Store i.e.

Did you uninstall Evernote (that you had gotten from Nook App Store), restart Nook Color (an important step so that installer etc. are refreshed), and then install the latest version?

Sorry to be so confusing.  All references in my initial post were referring to the Nook App Store.  The blocked install I referred to was trying to update thru the evernote app itself, I understand why that failed.

Yes, I deleted the evernote app, that I got from the Nook App Store, restarted my HD+, downloaded and installed the current evernote app in the Nook App Store.  When I check the version from within the evernote app it says I have version 4.4.0 installed and not the new version 4.4.1.  When I long press on the app icon and go to the detail page it says it is version 4.4.1 from the developer.

Thanks for the suggestions in your first reply, I will let you know how they turn out.
