    Bookmarks, Highlights and Notes...export feature?

Are there any plans in the works to allow easy exporting of Highlights, Bookmarks and Notes to an external file (an xml file for example)?

This seems to be one feature that is incredibly useful and currently unavailable.  I've even pulled down the SDK and can not find any API's available to interact with the e-reader and retrieve this information.  I do a lot of research and reading of technical documents and the ability to add notes without having to carry around pen and paper is a great feature.  However, I have not found, nor read, any way to be able to retrieve this information easily.  There is the share feature, but that only shares to twitter, facebook or gmail.  I want to be able to either write an app or have the NookColor provide a way that will pull that notes and such and the book information including the ISBN, author, title, page numbers for notes and highlights in an easy to use format external to the NookColor and sending it to an Gmail account is not a very convenient method to do so.

Thanks for any insight anybody can provide.

If you want to know where the Nook stores the notes and highlight info, you'll need to root it and use Root Explorer to go to:

          data/data/com.nook.reader.activities/databases/

There is a database file called annotations.db

          I opened it and found:

          android_metadata
          annotations
          sqlite_sequence

I copied the file to my computer, opened it with sqlitebrowser_200_b1_win, and exported the annotations part of the table to a csv file which I could view in Word.

Go make that app, travelling_fool!  It would prove to be incredibly useful for students and teachers.

SLevine our B&N community mngr, has a recommendation that she said she has submitted for cross app "copy & paste"  So you would be able to highlight, copy, text from ebook into another app like Fliq Notes or email, or into a entry form in your browser.  Of course this is an Android issue, but now that B&N is a big player for Android Tablets, B&N can put pressure on Google to get this issue solved.

Good information, Dr. Charlie, but traveling_fool made 2 posts the week he joined, and hasn't been back again in 5 months.  So I doubt we'll see him writing any apps.  :smileywink:
