    HD Shipping?

      I'm thinking B&N will be shipping the preorders soon. I preordered on 10/1/12 and on 10/11/12 a pending transaction for the HD and screen protector posted on my bank account.

          I received a notification from my bank telling me that a transaction to pay B&N had been approved.  I pre ordered my Nook HD the first week they were announced.  I believe that they will be shipping our cargo soon.

            I asked this evening a store manager if he knew when the store demo units would be shipped to the store and he said something like "I don't know."  

             

            I sold my NT about two weeks ago, and I have been without a B&N tablet ever since.

                On the Nook HD & HD+ order pages, on the pre-order tab, it's now listing the products will be available on November 8th. Not sure if this date is for all preorders from today on, or if it also includes those of us who pre-ordered weeks ago.

                When the Nook Classic was on pre-order, the shipping date posted would keep moving later and later. That was due to the number of orders. There were different waves of shipping. The original orders kept the same shipping date. It was fun watching for the first posting of a Nook delivery! If I remember correctly, I was on the second or third wave and received my Nook two weeks early. I will be watching again for the first post, it's kind of like Christmas morning!

                    Lilliputing and pocketables are both now reporting "available on November 8"; I seem to remember when the 1st edition came out, for later later orders, the B&N web site listed "orders ship on__ " such and such a date, not "available"

                    I purchased the Nook HD "Groovy Stand" yesterday at my local B&N store.  They received the whole gamut of covers for both the HD and the HD+.   They look very nice.

                      pre-ordered from the web site got theirs and I waited for the store stock to show up.  So

                      this time I pre-ordered on the web site the day the HD+ was announced, and now my three

                      local stores are filling reservations starting today while my pre-order has not yet shipped. 

                       

                      It's a "first world problem" for sure, but still, I gotta sigh.

                          Well, this is strange.  This A.M. I got the "delayed until 12/01" e-mail and used the link therein to cancel the order.  As of mid-day it still showed on my "Order Status" page as "not yet shipped".  Then about 4 P.M. I got two e-mails, one the "the delay e-mail was in error" message and another "your Nook HD+ has shipped" with a tracking number.  About 30 minutes after that another arrived that said my cancellation request could not be completed because the order had shipped.  So would it have shipped if I hadn't tried to cancel it?

                           

                          Anyway, saw the demo unit in the store tonight and this may be the first tablet I keep.  I've had the Nook Color and a 7" Acer Iconia and both failed to hook me.  The HD+, in the few minutes I hogged it, looks like it may be "the one".  The screen is as beautiful as claimed, and the size seems perfect.  Large enough to be usable but not as big and bulky as my spouse's iPad.  I think I may even be able to read (regular text) books on it, and Mr. Gaiman's Sandman comics ("graphic novels, Mike!") will be sweet, I expect.

                          I pre-ordered 2 HD+ 32gb Nooks on Oct. 12 and received the same delayed shipment notice today that many others are receiving. Yes.. Disappointing but, it is what it is. It would be nice if there were more information on the cause of the delay. Was there just more orders placed for this model than could be filled or has Sandy caused all the trouble? I suspect a combination of the two. Anyway, I ordered these for Christmas presents that most likely would have been used way before Christmas :smileyhappy: so I will continue to wait patiently.

                            I received another e mail, 3rd one today, saying my tablet has now shipped UPS. Thats only one day late. I ordered Oct. 11.

                              Wow it's amazing how many perfect people you find on the Internet. It's clear that whatever error there has been, either was caused, made worse, or at least BN'S ability to correct it was impacted by the East Coast storm. It is very likely the people responsible were unable to get to work. It appears devices shipped from the east coast are delayed. My Nevada sourced device has been shipped. It seems likely that this may account for some of the shipping variances. Because this is a NY, New Jersey based firm communication and responses are probably disrupted. New product introductions always have hiccups, the storm has just exaggerated them this time.

                                I'm getting closer to joining the HD+ club! :smileyhappy: I received an email yesterday around 4pm that my Nooks had shipped. Odd that they shipped on a Sunday but as of now, according to UPS tracking, my Nooks still have not been picked up by UPS so I guess they are still at the warehouse.

                                It has been nice reading everyone's experience with the new device and learning all I can until mine arrives. Please keep those posts coming.

                                    I just talked with customer support about the cancellation of my 360 stand and anti-glare screen kit. B&N is out of the 360 stands, but the anti-glare screen kits just became available again. of course, they cancelled that part of my order, so now I have to order the anti-glare screen again.

                                    i'm surprised that they would be out of the 360 stands so soon -- mine was a fairly early order.

                                    I'm having just as much fun watching my Nooks take a trip around the country (and a little jealous) as I am anticipating their arrival. They started in Philadelphia, PA then flew to Minneapolis, MN then to Louisville, KY on their way to TN. :smileyhappy:

                                        I ordered a 32 GB HD+ from Best Buy yesterday morning (I'm on the waiting list at B&N but they said it would be at least 2 weeks so I decided to hedge my bets) and got the email this morning saying it shipped! Can't wait till it gets here!

                                          Have any showed up in TX?  Still no ship notice today, my order still says Dec. 1st and website now shows Novv. 12th LMBO . . . whoooooo knows.

                                          Asked on live chat and they said it would deff ship today but . . .

                                           

                                          Around here the stores have the Nook HD+ 32gb but none of the HD 7".  Soooo bummed.

                                            Got an email Nov. 7 saying my Nook HD was shipping. On the ups tracking site it has just said a shipping label has been printed ever since.

                                                Try refreshing the page. I got the same email early on the 7th, and late last night (the 8th) it changed and gave me a delivery date of the 13th. Since the shipping date was projected to be the 15th when I ordered I'm very happy with the 13th! A whole week early! Yay!

                                                  LOL Same thing for me.  I called twice, assured it would ship on the 8th, and last call the gal told me it was in processing.  Late that night I got the notice it had shipped and the amount was charged to my card.  Used my tracking number since then and basically all that has happened was a shipping label was created with UPS . . . the item has not even reached UPS facility yet.  That was on the 8th, now the 10th . . . I'm giving them 24 hrs and if the pkg has not reached UPS then prob will cancel.

                                                   

                                                  Not saying this is the case but ............ I've seen other mfg's use this trick . . .  just creating the shipping label to hold people off from canceling an order and then it's a week or more before ups ever gets the pkg to ship it.  Not very nice!

                                                   

                                                  I've not been upset so far, just curious and watching the process but if this is what's been done . . .  NOT going to be happy and will NEVER pre-order from BN again.

                                                   

                                                  I understand there are circumstances beyond their controll BUT if this is what has happened, they have used an underhanded way of handeling the matter.  Just saying . . . .

                                                      It could be UPS's issue?  With heavy shipments in general this time of year, recent system disruptions maybe their pick ups are behind. I have a brother in management with them. If you don't have expidited shipping and planes are full, they can hold your load one cycle, with a weekend in there it could be 3-4 days.

                                                        If your account says shipped then your package most likely did  . I had all my HD stuff prerecorded ... I went to the store  saw they had the HD+ in stock and having had my name on the list there decided to purchase .

                                                        The store called cs and canceled my order so I could purchase from them . When I got home I checked my account and somewhere between store to home bn shipped the cover and screen protectors  anyway... Having a cancellation number and all  didn't stop those things from showing up at my door a few days ago it took a week ... Shipped nov 1 .. Received nov 8 . 

                                                         

                                                        and yes at time of cancellation it was known by cs that items were in process to.ship . I also had expedited shipping so odds are you will get your HD even if you cancel now . At least from my experience .

                                                            I'm not sure if this fits here but here it goes: I pre ordered a Nook HD in the B&N store. at first I was told they would come on the 31st of Oct or Nov 1 I can't remember. But what i do know is when i went back There more more Nook HD+ models there then 7inch HD's. But I let it go I decided to get some questions answered  then went and got a 16gig micro sd for my new Nook.  But around this time Sandy happened and yes i know after that B&N have been trying there best to get the orders out to people that didn't bother me much. But what made me angry is that They were only bringing in shipments of you guessed it HD+. I was getting upset and did my best to hide it.

                                                            Now I called my local B&N store and found out they were finally getting the 7inch models in my anger calmed I was in a okay mode now but then i noticed they were getting more HD+ then HD in there shipments but I still don't understand. I planed on getting "The call" before black Friday or Christmas But I have a sad feeling that my name is near the bottom of the list and i wont get my beloved nook HD till after Christmas or the new year.  A present to my self on hold till the new year I don't even want to think about it. My anger is not depression and to keep it at bay I just fill up on some nice hot chocolate sweets make the bad things go away for me anyways.

                                                        WOOOHOOO my Nook HD arrived . . .  BOOHOOO it has a crack in the case at the top!!!  So now I have to check my local store and see if they can replace for me there OR order another one from BN and just hope they agree that the crack is a defect.  AND who knows how LONG it will take to get a replacement.  Honestly . . . what a PAIN.

                                                         

                                                        I did however play with it a bit to check it out.  Nice from what I've seen so far.  Only thing I'm pretty dissapointed in is the sound.  Why couldn't they have put speakers on right and left when you have it turned to watch a movie so it's like stereo sound????  Plus all the way up volume level is not that great.  I've been a long time BN and Nook fan since the first original Nook but on sound . . . Kindle Fired HD BLOWS Nook out of the water for sure.  

                                                         

                                                        Even with the sound issue, I'm still happy with it as I will use it mainly for reading and I LOVE the updates they did with the software and how things works.  The shopping portion is a major improvement.
