NOOK HD unknown/mystery files appearing on active shelf of home screen

I've been noticing these strange files taking up space on my active shelf, but when I try to open them, they do not open and a message appears saying that the content I am trying to open is not available...and when I click the 'Do Not Show on Home' option, they still remain there? I'm not sure where they are coming from and it seems like they are increasing and may be taking up space on my device. Here's links to some pictures I took of my home screen:

I've had my Nook for about a month now and I just noticed these files maybe 2 weeks ago. They seem to have the same little icon as the web icon at the bottom of the screen, so is it possibly related to cache automatically stored from my web browsing? If so, how do I get rid of it?! I've already cleared all my search history and such, but it doesn't seem to be working. PLEASE help!

      Thanks!

Not sure if this will fix issue or not. Go to your home settings (tap the "wheel" icon to get the settings drop down to appear. The 1st row or top section of the drop down box should be home settings, click on it)

In the home settings under active shelf there is a list of items to display. i.e. books, apps ,mags, etc. Look for one called documents and uncheck the box. Hopefully they will no longer appear in the active shelf.

I have also had my Nook HD+ for about a month.  I had the same thing happen to me last week. I noticed my battery going down more quickly than normal, and then noticed the same icons on my home page. I took my Nook into the store, and talked with two of the staff members there. They had not heard of this before, nor did they have any idea where the files came from. We did end up getting the files deleted, and my battery is back to normal again. Just wanted to let you know this happened to someone else, as well.
