    B & N Gift Cards for Apps & Books

I'm buying my son a nook Color for Christmas and wanted to make sure that he can use a gift card for apps and books ( I realize that I'll have to have my credit card on file).

      Thanks!

I have received several B&N gift cards and was able to use them to purchase books and apps.  You just need to add them to the account and all purchases made via that account will be charged to the gift cards until they run out.  (Just be sure to keep the cards until they have been all used up, there have been problems in the past with B&N doing updates and the Gift Cards being dropped from the accounts, without having the physical card it can be difficult or impossible to add them to the account again.)

To add them to the account go to your account via the website, then account settings, then manage giftcards for nookbooks, it will take you to a page to add the card number and the pin number associated with the gift Card.

I hope this helps.  Happy Friday.

actually yes you have to have a valid credit card on your accnt in order to purchase books but if you add the gift card the books that he will purchase will be charge to the gift card and when the balance runs out the charges will go to the credit card on files
