I would also like the "shelves" feature to be synced across the devices. When I put a book on my "Fantasy" shelf on my Nook Classic, I want that to be reflected on my Nook Color, and vice versa.

A web-interface for the manipulation of shelves online would be very awesome. Thank you. :smileyhappy:

I would also like to see a "view cover on demand" feature - perhaps where the "FIRST PAGE" of all ebooks was always the cover, but this could be implemented other ways.

Currently, many of my ebooks only show the cover briefly when "zooming" towards you on opening the book. You get maybe 1 second to view the cover full-screen, and then the book opens and you're dumped to the "first page" - which usually isn't the color cover.

I want to be able to view the cover for longer than that - as long as I want, really. Some covers are quite lovely and contain "story hints". Thank you! :smileyhappy:

Agree with earlier comment concerning touch screen sensitivity adjustment -  just by trying to log on my BN acount, took me 10 minutes to input my password because letters kept being duplicated whenever I pressed a letter, and I have small fingers.

I totally agree with comment above RE PDF - ability to bookmark, highlight, take notes,...

I really love my color NOOK, but like everyone else, if I had my druthers, I'd like to see some of the following additions:

                1. I would like to see "The Daily" on my color nook.

                2. I would like to be able to see ONLY a list of my "bookshelf categories" on the main page. I don't need to see the books on the shelves at this point, just the shelf categories. Select a shelf and then see ALL the books on it

                3. A GMail App that syncs when in WiFi range.

                4. Battery Percentage displayed when clicking battery icon.

                5. Be able to export notes into text file.

                6. Landscape viewing of books.

                7. Ability to read PDBs.

                8. Have Pandora to remember my log in information.

                9. The ability to DELETE SAMPLES directly from the Nook instead of having to fire up a PC to do it.

                10. Ability to rearrange shelves as you can with the 1.5 version.

                11. ability to charge through USB cord.

                12. Add Go To Furthest read page.

                Thank you.

I totally agree, having the ability to add all my pdb books (just like on the classic Nook) would be great!

                    On the topic of prices...

It may be true that B&N can't offer price discounts on ebooks.

However, I have a B&N Mastercard, which gives 3% instant rebate on all purchases at B&N, including ebooks, IIRC.

So while it's possible that B&N can't offer a membership that gives, say, 10% off ebook purchases, I think they COULD offer a membership that, say, sends you a gift card at the end of the year that is equal to 10% of all B&N purchases that year, ebooks included. I'd sign up for that. :smileyhappy:

Just bought my NC two days ago and loving it so far, also own a nook wifi.

                      My wish list:

                      1.  pinch to zoom in browser.

                      2.  Sideload of android apps, even outside of market, and add to extra's menu.

                      3.  Allow us to manually arrange books on shelves.

                      4.  Change order of shelves.

                      5.  "Back" button.

I read voraciously and do audiobooks on a long drive.  I would really miss having my audiobooks available.

I totally agree!  I love audible.com  Unfortunately, audible uses DRM and the NC doesn't support it.  Plus, audible is owned by Amazon and is supported by the Kindle.  I'm hoping that when the apps are ready next year we can use the audible app for android, which works like a charm on my phone.  If my NC supported Audible I would be in heaven!

My only other little thing I'd love on the NC would be the ability to add any content to the Home Screen, not just B&N books (like a link to the gallery.

I love the NC!  It's my favorite device ever.  :smileyvery-happy:

                          Second these:

                          1. pinch to zoom in browser.

                          2. Sideload of android apps, even outside of market, and add to extra's menu.

                          3. Allow us to manually arrange books on shelves. This goes for magazines as well. I loaded a bunch of magazines in pdf format and what a mess that created.

                          4. Change order of shelves.

                          5. "Back" button. Allow the hard back button availbe when reading PDF's to be used in the browser as well.

                          6. Allow me to order my bookmars in the browser the way I want them. Folders for bookmarks would be nice as well. If we get a back button, that should take you back to bookmarks not to last webpage browsed if bookmarks was where you come from.

                          Otherwise I love my NC.

                          • 175. Re: What users want in the NOOKcolor 1.1 update

When I comment/highlights in a PDF, my comments/highlights must be stored in the PDF itself.

My line of reasoning is quite simple.

There is a vast army of scholars like me who are craving for a good eReader. But the reader that we are expecting must allow highlighting and commenting in PDFs. Why in PDFs? Well, because surprisingly scholars read academic articles and all current scholarly archives are in PDF. Not “a majority of”, but simply all of it. So, if Nook doesn't allow to highlight and comment in PDFs, it is simply useless for a scholar.

When I say “highlighting and commenting” I don’t mean some third party tool which would store my comments in a separate XML file or something (e.g. iAnnotate for iPad). NO!!! My comments must be stored in the PDF file itself!!! For I need to be able to transfer my PDFs from my eReader back to my Laptop with all my comments freely. No limitations are acceptable. The good thing is that nothing new has to be invent, since it has already been invented and it is called Adobe Acrobat. Its functionality is quite sufficient for the task.

I'm just hoping that guys from B&N are reading these lines and making notes.

My biggest wishes are related to viewing PDFs.

First and foremost, resolve whatever the bug is that's causing many PDFs to open up with a red "x" where the file content should be.

Second is adding the ability to remember what page of a PDF I was on.

im loving it so far but there are a few very simple things i would like to see...

                                1. Ability to customize your home screen

                                2. Some sort of support for comics in .cbr and .cbz format ...i assume this will be released with the app market but if its not i will be majorly dissapointed

3.some sort of basic note pad...with ability to save notes

of course there are other thingsbut at the very least i want these update...they are so simple and easy to do and will ultimately be the tipping point for me to keep my NC

While I agree with your wish I don't know how that is going to happen unless each Nook owner buys a copy of Acrobat.  Adobe gives away the pdf reader but Acrobat is a pay-per-copy app.  Also, unless the original document grants editing privileges you won't be able to store anything in the pdf.

I really need a non deleting backspace key on the keyboard. Or a cursor back/forward.

                                    Cheers,
