My first novella!  For fans of light, humorous fantasy in the vein of "The Princess Bride".

Ellis was born in the small village of Barstone and lived in Barstone and, he feared, would die in Barstone. No one ever left and nothing ever happened - except for the Festival of the Eclipse. Twice a year the citizens of Barstone gathered to watch the Sun and the Moon come together, and there were games and feasts and cheers. This year was no different...until the Sun and the Moon disappeared. Now Ellis must protect the secret of the Eclipse from Barstone and embark on a storybook adventure to restore the Sun and the Moon to their rightful place before more devious forces have their way with them.

Andrew cannot resist sitting down to play the instrument, and another life – the one he has abandoned – comes back to him.

              • 109. One Shot by B.K. Stevens

                One Shot

When rising politician Karen Dodd pushes through the toughest gun-control bill in Ohio’s history, she thinks it’s her ticket to the governor’s office. But soon after she announces her candidacy, on the day she’s slated to receive an award from a gun-control organization, Karen Dodd is found dead in her comfortable suburban home, one bullet through her heart.

Suspects abound-her philandering husband, a hard-drinking former beauty queen, a smooth-talking gun lobbyist and his deceptively meek assistant, an ambitious television reporter who sees the murder as the story that could transform her career. Police lieutenant Dan Ledger puts his own life in danger as he struggles to uncover the secrets of suspects who at first seem harmlessly eccentric-but who can quickly turn deadly serious. Ledger’s used to piecing together meager bits of evidence, and he’s usually adept at analyzing the fears and desires that drive people to kill. This time, though, the motive takes him by surprise.

One Shot is a traditional whodunit with a contemporary twist. Packed with suspense and humor, it raises questions about issues ranging from gun control to reality television.

The views on soul and reincarnation vary from no such thing as a ‘soul’ to only humans possess a soul, to both humans and animals possess a soul, and that soul likewise dies when the physical body dies or that soul is immortal and never dies. All religions believe in the existence of SOUL in human body, but they differ in what happens after death. This manuscript searches for the truth.

The title of my book is Hector's Juice and with a little luck and a lot of sales it will be a great american novel. After starting at the beginning of time it springs forward to the life of a gifted mexican boy named Hector Ortega and follows his family and him through much of the twentieth century. I say he gifted because he is a savant with an extrordianry ability to mix chemicals into justice releasing cocktails upon some of the last century's worst human vermin. He does however have help from the very first guardian angel assigned to our planet. That being said I've been told that the story will make you laugh and cry. Not a bad deal for 99 cents. And as a bonus, long before Stephen King wrote his best selling 11/22/63 I wrote Hector's Juice and in it you will learn who the real killer of JFK was and it wasn't Lee Harvey. Go ahead, give it a read. Who knows, you might also think it to be the next great american novel. Thanks.
