Here are my two ghost novels available for Nook:

        The Wahl House Curse

Peter Corbin was in need of a change in his job as a realtor in a busy suburban community. A chance to transfer to a small town seemed to be what he and his wife Sarah needed. They purchased an old house for a bargain price, but with a troubled past. This proved to be something he would soon regret. The restless ghosts quickly made their presence known. (about 59,000 words).

        Alone Again

David Sutton struggled to understand what had changed once he and Emily moved into the old suburban house, which was remodeled after being abandoned for a several years. She had been an outgoing and happy person when she and David married. Emily was only a shadow of her former self. She had become withdrawn and heard voices in the house that she felt were trying to harm her. He was worried about her, but felt helpless to prevent the decline. A coworker of David's befriended him to help him cope. Eventually witnessing some strange occurrences in the house himself, he realized that Emily’s problems may not have just been in her mind.

Alone Again is about 43,000 words and contains some mature content.

        Thank you,

        John

          Short description

The most powerful book on breathing that not only explains what many people learn in expensive workshops and remote retreats but very personal routine the author follows. Several independent studies on breathing are given that confirm the practitioners of breathing techniques not only experience physical and mental comfort, but discover cures for illnesses such as asthma.

              DEAD PEOPLE'S THINGS

A wickedly funny tale of three very different women as they embark on a road trip in a beat-up 1974 Winnebago to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. About to turn 50 years old, eccentric Emma Daye wants to escape the toxic polluted air of East Texas and breathe in the fresh air of Biloxi Beach that makes her feel better. Her niece, Lori Daye, needs a respite from mourning 3 failed marriages and her mother's recent death. Ellavil Clairmont, Emma's long time renter, wants a free ride to anywhere.

On their trek south, none of them expect to become involved in Reverend P. Abraham Truth's Freedom Hour  statewide anti-gambling campaign. They also never expect to meet and become friends with a wealthy Northern couple and two Amish girls on Rumspringa.  Even more surprises are in store for the trio when their hometown family doctor shows up at Captain Pinkies R.V. Resort and Laundromat where they are camped.  It seems the good doctor has a secret life that none of them are aware of. When Lori is kidnapped by a deranged funeral home director who is involved in a most unusual jewelry fencing scheme, her rescue  and its aftermath c hanges several lives.

Join this unlikely trio and share in their tears and joy as they find solace with themselves and each other.  DEAD PEOPLE'S THINGS is a laugh out loud journey that will wind its way into your funny bone.

                The Hundred Years Farce

                Nook Price $1.99

Most people don't recall—if they ever knew—that the United States Army invaded México in 1846.  A year later they entered México City and received an unconditional surrender.  Then they walked away with Texas, New México and California.  What would have happened if they hadn't walked away?

The Hundred Years Farce, is an alternative history that postulates what might have happened if an obscure piece of American history had gone differently.  That's on the surface.  The soul of this story is social and political satire.

I'm confident it has something to offend everyone.

                  The Depths of Deception

"Intelligent, compelling." "The first thing that impressed me was the writing style. It is unique...sensuous in the true meaning of the word..."

America has disappeared some years ago. A neo-fascist Party has come to power in the UK. China is on the rise. A submarine hurtles through the cold dark waters of the Atlantic en route to an unknown destination. Only the ship's doctor knows its true mission, but he is not who he appears to be.

A sweeping tale moving from the violent heart of Apartheid South Africa, to the ruins of the United Kingdom, and down to the edge of the world in the frozen Antarctic landscape, The Depths of Deception is a tale of revenge, served as a shatteringly cold dish.

                          Kin

A new novel by the Bram Stoker Award-winning author of THE TURTLE BOY.

On a scorching hot summer day in Elkwood, Alabama, Claire Lambert staggers naked, wounded, and half-blind away from the scene of an atrocity. She is the sole survivor of a nightmare that claimed her friends, and even as she prays for rescue, the killers -- a family of cannibalistic lunatics -- are closing in.

A soldier suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder returns from Iraq to the news that his brother is among the murdered in Elkwood.

In snowbound Detroit, a waitress trapped in an abusive relationship gets an unexpected visit that will lead to bloodshed and send her back on the road to a past she has spent years trying to outrun.

And Claire, the only survivor of the Elkwood Massacre, haunted by her dead friends, dreams of vengeance... a dream which will be realized as grief and rage turn good people into cold-blooded murderers and force alliances among strangers.

It's time to return to Elkwood.

In the spirit of such iconic horror classics as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Deliverance, Kin begins at the end and studies the possible aftermath for the survivors of such traumas upon their return to the real world -- the guilt, the grief, the thirst for revenge -- and sets them on an unthinkable journey... back into the heart of darkness.

"If you took the moral quandaries about revenge, justice and violence against evil from Dennis Lehane's Patrick Kenzie novels, spread it over the sprawling cast of a Stephen King thriller, and mixed it with the Southern Gothic grotesques of Eudora Welty, you might end up with something like Kealan Patrick Burke's new novel, KIN." - LITSTACK

"It's odd that an Irish transplant to the Northern US has written one of the best Southern Gothic novels in recent memory." - DARK DISCOVERIES

Ain't Too Proud To Beg  **NEW RELEASE!**    Sparks fly when a near-fatal car accident brings Hollywood film star, Vaughn Breland and physical therapist and single mother, Trenyce Clark together in Telluride, Colorado.

Having a movie star as a private patient will look great on her professional resume, but Trenyce Clark doesn’t know if she has the patience or energy to deal with Vaughn Breland, a gorgeous, self-centered actor. She already has enough problems in her life.
