    Nook color update

      Am I the only one out there who hasn't been updated yet? I've been waiting for it to happen automatically, was I left out or are some still waiting?

          Rumor has it that the over the air roll out of the recent update was suspended due to something buggy happening with the over the air implementation of the update ( not that the update was buggy ). I haven't been updated automatically...I am on wifi regularly but not constantly so I may have missed it. If you really want the update "right now" you will have to update manually at home or go into a B&N store to have it done for you. I am "on the fence" about the update so am waiting for an updated update that "fixes" things the update "broke" or addresses the feedback from those who already got it ;0) Could be an exercise in futility, but I am liking my nookcolor as is right now so am not worried about waiting.

            I haven't gotten it yet and I have always gotten updates within a day or two of their release.  As it turns out, my niece used my NC while we were Christmas shopping and turned off the wifi while we were out and about.  It was off for about a week, so I feel like I missed it.   I also got the e-mail yesterday encouraging downloading it.  I haven't decided if I want to do that yet.

              I manually updated mine the day it was released.  My two sons each got a Nook for Christmas.  One manually updated his that day, the other never fooled with it.  As of yesterday, it still hadn't automatically updated.  I went ahead and sideloaded it onto hid NC so he could add a couple B&N gift cards through the new feature to do so.

                  I have not received the NC update OTA yet. I also got email from B&N, directing me to the manually loading it page on their site. Talking to a co-worker who also has a NC this week, she told me she had talked with CS and they told her it was not being sent OTA. I didn't understand exactly what she was saying about why it not, if there any truth to that, but..still waiting, I do wonder. I have left my NC wifi on.

                      I've heard that they weren't sending it out OTA because of bugs or something. From looking at some posts on the site I'd say if you read magazines regularly don't update yet. Wait to see if they will send out an update to fix the bugs. If not I say go for it!! I love the gift card options, the new shelving system, and the new reading functions!!!!! Yes there's some cons too, but none of them are too serious to keep me from doing what I bought the NC for which is READING!! Losing the quick nav bar wasn't that serious to me if you have/use an ipod or iphone it shouldn't be that serious to you. The books and apps popping back up on the home screen is annoying but nothing to really complain about.
